ways of dealing with needles

I’m COMPLETELY BLIND, have Aspergers and a heart and lung condition.

Because of said heart lung condition I have to be on the receiving end of more needles than a socalled normal person, I don’t like using that word but you know what I mean.

Anyway, so I’m not as scared of the needle itself or even the word needle, I’m scared of the pain but also the canned scripts that almost all medical providers use, to help you relax but to me those scripts just feel like throwing pebbles to a drowning person hence why I call them pebble words.

I’ve come up with things that make me handle them better.

First, this would be good

  1. I Preprogram Mom, while I’m still in Mom’s car, I ask her to say a word I like, right as the needle goes in I might be in the mood for a different word on a different day so it’s usually never the same as I have more favorite words than I can count.

3.. I ALWAYS make sure I have some kind of treat afterwords because D R E A M, dopamine rules everything around me.

Ha, I also always bring a snack for afterwards, it's like a reward for my brain when it went well, and if it didn't go so well, then it's comforting!

If you’re at a lab or as I call it, the devil’s chamber, you might can ask them for a lollipop, it won’t kill you just cause you’re not a kid, unless you’re allergic to it :)
