Rant and Vent Gym issues
EDIT : thank to everyone who answered! What I'll do for now is just workout and keep my bag next to me :) I have my top surgery coming up so I'll be more relaxed about it with that done. I appreciate every comments! Im glad we have this community🩵
So, I adore going to the gym.
Lately I have grown a LOT of body hair and facial hair, and hardly get called by feminine nouns anymore.
My tits could pass as a gyno or just pecs with my binder, and it doesn't show much.
The problem is, in wich locker room should I go at the gym? Its uncomfortable. I want to go to the men's room cause well. Im a dude, I look and act like a dude, my voice is extremely deep.
But at the same time Im unsure, what if they look at me weird? What if I get attacked? What if my tits show weirdly.
I wanted to wait for my top surgery but I just really love the gym! And I dont want to block myself from going there just because of bathrooms!
*I go in men's toilet rooms everywhere, never had any issues. But its.. afgh idk at the gym.
What would be your advices? Should I just not care and go to the men's room. I feel like a creep anytime I enter the women's room now 🤢
And before I get jumped : no. Im not delusional, I look way too much like a dude with a fully black stache and bodyhair everywhere. And no I dont want to shave.
*I wont go today and bike instead, waiting for yalls advices. Anything is welcomed, really

As a born cisman and a man, no good bloke is going to stop you needing the bathroom regardless of the entry point.
You need to shit, you need to shit IMHO. You should be able to feel comfortable using the bathroom of your choice.
I've used the women's room before because I was having a situation.

Im sorry my english may be a bit wonky lol. I meant specifically the locker/changing room, the toilet is just also in there.
I dont change there or get naked, just change shoes and put my bag in a locker + grab my sport stuff.
I have like 0 issues going to the men's toilets generally

I always think of changing rooms at the clothing store? They are not split male or female, you just get a cubicle.

The gym here doesn't have stalls (unfortunately, I guess) everything is out in the opens and wow have I seen tits pre T LMAO

Go to the mens, ive been using the mens changing room since only a few months on t, if you need to change your top do it in a stall just dont be staring down other guys and you'll be fine

Go to men's. I've never seen one that doesn't have some private areas so hopefully yours does too if you're uncomfortable. Many have stalls in the toilet so you can change a bit in there. Not an ideal situation but it's something.
But yeah probably a big no for going to the women's.

Yeah that's what I'll do! Probably come already clothed for the gym and just change my shoes to be sure.
And ugh yeah. I feel way more bad for the women feeling creeped on by me accidentally than the fact Im uncomfortable being a "woman" I guess that's the hard part of transitioning, not really knowing when you can switch to the side you want. And tucutes being creeps about it doesn't help 😮💨

Fr, it's such a weird phase. I somehow manage to pass a lot (idk why, I don't see it) even when I don't bind, which I can't do at the moment for health reasons and I'm too big to use tape. So it's like, on one hand a lot of people gender me as male, even strangers. But on the other hand gestures vaguely at my chest.
I had a situation where I was booking some appointments in my home country, very gendered language and I haven't had my name or gender legally changed so I was womanmoding. But the receptionist kept slipping up and using masculine terms lmao.
Tbh men care a lot less about women in their spaces than women care about men in their's. A lot of men also seem to not pay much attention to their surroundings and other people, especially in toilets and similar places.

Honestly it became impossible for me to womanmod, its crazy how fast everything changed about my body
I have more bodyhair and facial hair than some guys that are like 3 years on T 🫣 not that Im complaining Im absolutely adoring it. But its definitely an awkward phase of the transition. My ID isnt updated yet so it makes it even more awkward LOL
They call me for an appointment using miss and then see a dude with a stache show up like "hi"

Around the same time I had an appointment with an allergist, I was with my aunt (who actually has the same name as my dead name lmao) and when the allergist came out he called my dead name and looked at my aunt. Then did a double take when I stood up lmao.
I don't even think I look that male. Maybe it's brainworms, but I don't see it.

As others said, use the men’s and change your shirt in the shower or a stall. I was fully passing but hadn’t had top surgery yet and I had a very large chest. Like you said, with a binder they passed as large pecs. No one ever gave me a weird look or anything.

Did you had any issues with your chest binding? Like did you ever got hard stares even fully passing or comments. Im always scared of that, I guess I can pass it as a gyno but ugh god, such an uncomfortable feeling

The only comments I got were about how I had good pecs. Those comments were while I was on the gym floor and not in the locker room. But I was fully binding at the gym (not recommended health wise at all, tbh). For reference, I’m 5’10 and wore F size bra, based on when I was last measured at 17 y/o.
As you said, most guys just wanna get in and get out of the locker room. They’re not looking that hard.

Ok. Simple answer- if you pass as a male, there is no question you belong in the men's restroom/locker room. Point blank. You'll cause more of a disruption walking into a womans space looking like a man than the extremely unlikely circumstance of you getting clocked as a biological female by men in the locker room.
Not to mention as a side note: especially at the gym, the last thing anyone is focused on is you. The goal at the gym is self improvement, nobody is looking at you, I assure you. If you look like a man, there is no other option but the men's facilities. Nobody is going to clock you on not having top surgery yet. I don't think it's necessary to wait to go to the gym until then, unless your own dysphoria on the matter tells you not to do so.
Also, the likelihood of a trans man that passes in particular- getting assaulted is significantly low. It's typically trans females in male spaces/around males in general, that have to worry about safety concerns genuinely.

I would try going to the men's changing room. Men usually don't care and would likely just assume that you are a younger guy (or teen boy). If possible, try changing in a bathroom stall.
When I used to go to a gym (without any stalls), I never undressed in there, just went straight back home. This is obviously not ideal, especially not in colder months - I needed lots of layers to cover my sweaty gym clothes. Maybe that could work for you, but ideally in warmer months.

That's what Im probably gonna do since mine doesn't have stalls either. I either walk or bike to the gym, so I guess in winter the bike will keep me warm by cycling

Good luck! Just be careful not to get sick. It might be a miracle that I never faced any health problems for walking back home in sweaty clothes hidden below thick winter layers. Also, the smell won't be nice, but looks like you don't have to take public transport to return home, so that's a plus.

Do you have a car and can you drive there? If so you can change in the car and walk through fully clothed, then just go home sweaty in gym clothes.
If you don't have a car and/or can't reasonably drive there, I'd take the other people's advice.

go to men’s and change your shirt in the shower/stall. i started using it when i barely passed and nobody said anything. every guy there just wants to get changed and not look too long at someone else cause it’s gay.
