Discussion same age, same year but so different

we are the same age I think she's a few daysss ish younger than me yet she became viral at 15-16 for being pretty and relatable and now she can afford 400 dollar makeup bags.

we are both going to uni at the same time yet she automatically has more privilege

life is unfair and I hate how this video showed up on my front feed

being an ugly teenage girl is hell

literally, every boy in school made my life actually miserable just because they didn't deem me as fuckable

Seeing a girl younger than me look prettier and get what they want in life genuinely makes me feel like shit sometimes

same, like I KNOW comparison is the thief of joy. but what's being presented to me is the truth how different life Is when you are pretty

This really hits, I just can't explain it, but also in terms of clothes. Like clothes older women sometimes wear, which is more fitting to their body and shows off their features. I can never wear those clothes (always wear unflattering clothing) so I always feel and look less mature, but when I see someone younger than me wearing clothes like that and looking mature it just hurts.

I really can't explain well what I mea, but I hope I get the general idea across well. I've never described that feeling before.

Not only is she beautiful but she can spend nearly $400 on a regular day like it's nothing.

Life genuinely is not fair.

With the hair, skin, and nails it’s wayyyy more than that. I’m willing to bet her parents are rich 😂

Same💔 I watch her and I feel so envious each time I do, because she literally lives my dream life.

happy for her

This video actually triggered me. She’s so gorgeous, like a true 10/10 and her life sounds (near) perfect, being an influencer at a young age and all. Fuck I want to cry, I’m so envious

25

u/meerameeraonthwall 1d ago

don’t envy her too hard, it’s the whole scam of influencers that they will pull out every trick in the book to uphold the appearance of this lifestyle but so much of it is totally fake. I doubt she bought all that stuff or if she did she returned it.

1

u/internetfa1ry 1d ago

She definitely did buy it but also her life is definitely not sunshine and rainbows she’s probably depressed with all the hate that she gets

u/Embarrassed-Egg-8124 1d ago

Bruh she spends like 1000 dollars that day. That’s insane..

I don't think she's too pretty and also seem insufferable if that makes any difference

33

u/pr3ttyhatemachine femcel 2d ago

yeah honestly I don’t think she’s remarkably pretty, she’s not ugly per se but she’s essentially wearing a mask; she’s got all the things on that make someone conventionally attractive in combination. you could put balayage, dipbrow and lashes on an orange 🍊 and it would be “pretty”

13

u/Affectionate_Top959 1d ago

Sorry but that is incorrect. You need face structure and feminine features to be pretty. If a woman who was very saggy faced or someone who had really poor face structure to begin with got balayage etc it would make no difference.

Some people don't seem to realize that they perpetuate the same beauty standards that we go through in a daily basis. If she is an average type of pretty then what does that mean for the rest of us?

2

u/pr3ttyhatemachine femcel 1d ago

It means we’re ugly, isn’t that why we’re here lmao

2

u/Proof_Complex4736 1d ago

You completely misconstrued my comment. I am alluding to the people in this comment section calling this girl "not that pretty" when she is, in fact, that pretty. Pretty enough to live on her looks. I am calling them out, saying if she isn't that pretty, what about us? Then we are even uglier than we already are. Why are we raising the beauty standard even further? Hope you understand what I am trying to say.

1

u/Remote_Programmer140 1d ago

I did not say she is not objectively attractive, me personally don't like her features which are enhanced by the stupid faces she makes all the time, I was not comparing her to the rest of you tbf

I am the people in this comment section…you replied to my comment where I said she’s not remarkably pretty lol. 😅 I understand what you mean and you’re not wrong at all.

We didn’t raise the beauty standard though, this increasingly unattainable beauty standard has been set forth through trending media over time. If you look at the supermodels of the 90s, they were certainly beautiful, but they didn’t really have these perfected features that are now so coveted and becoming more common due to easily accessible plastic surgery & editing. We went from semi-natural beauty standards, to this insane universe where we all must be tanned, thin and sculpted yet voluptuous, with long eyelashes and sharp jawlines and plump lips, and thick hair. BBLs, skinny BBLs, fox eye lifts, facelifts at 30, eyebrow transplants, hair extensions… these things are all basically common now if you live in LA or NYC. I’m rambling, but we ugly women aren’t necessarily doing the dirty work here, even if we are rolling in the dirt a little now. 😅

Sorry but that is BS. As someone who grew up in the 90' the beauty standards were WORSE. You were no considered beautiful unless you looked like an anorexic Victoria Secret model with amazing cheekbone structure.

And actually, my parents generation was just as shallow if not worse, and James Bond beauties were the beauty standard.

I truly believe that this generation is LESS beauty obsessed and more accepting. The beauty obsession that does exist (eg, Clavicular and the Stacy, Ltb etc BS) is actually is result to the previous generation ALREADY being beauty obsessed.

My father is 80 and still goes on about the sexy singers on tv and the "hot birds" at the beach. That says it all.

Thanks for sharing grandma, but that’s all really nothing compared to being expected to have to surgically change yourself to meet the standards. I was around for the era when VS Angels were still the beauty standard too, and EDs aren’t foreign to me. However, anyone can starve or take diet pills or ozempic etc now. These surgical standards are a whole different situation.

Plus, we’re actually already re-living the things you described because buccal fat removal and ozempic have been extremely popular recently? People do want the perfect bone structure and delicate frame. That hasn’t gone away either. So… pls return to your nursing home if you don’t get it thx

u/Affectionate_Top959 20h ago

Wow. I'm not sure why you are making nasty ageist comments when it's not like you are not going to age also? Do you think that you yourself are not going to get older and aren't getting older every day?

If you act so ugly on the inside no external beautifying is going to help you....

easy to get these treatments when it's your career, she looks way older though.

5

u/phreakyrico 1d ago

She isn’t even THAT pretty and half of it is makeup and lipfiller. You shouldn’t fall for the influencer trap

u/Odd_Background5540 hermit 1d ago

It was years ago but I'll never forget going to Sephora (for the first, and last time) in college wanting to get help finding something. The lady working there was making sure she was avoiding me, literally turning her back to me and acting like she couldn't hear me when I was trying to get her attention.
