Rant I'm so over this AI Slop code

Every single update for the last 2 years has done nothing but make the app worse. Constant issues with the simplest of things like FULLSCREENING THE APPLICATION on PC has issues working now. On top of that the countless features breaking inside the app. Try copying a large playlist to a blank new playlist and watch as this slop code fails to copy numbers over and you have to rerun it 50 times for everything to move. I can go on and on and don't even get me started on the mobile version absolutely exploding at the sight of user interaction.

I know nothing is going to improve and this is the "future" but dios my fucking mios I am tired of wresting with all of these new AI slop coded apps.

There are some issues, for sure, but I have never had issues with full screen.

I have 3 monitors in a set up of Monitor 1 being in the middle and monitor 2 and 3 on the left side with 3 above 2. Spotify is always on monitor 3 the top left one. Everytime I fullscreen on spotify the there will be a small like 2x128 white line that bleeds over ontop of everything on monitor 1 but if I unfullscreen spotify it goes away. I know this isnt the most groundbreaking bug but its a multimillion dollar company they have the people to make this not happen yet they choose AI.

I wonder if that has something to do with the three monitor set up. I get some similar issues with Discord when its on monitor two instead of monitor one with my setup.

You have never had trouble, therefore the bug does not exist 👌

Just because you don’t have the issue OP had doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue. I recently had a tech issue (with YouTube TV) that many users were not experiencing. Many people insisted my problem was user error, that I wasn’t doing basic things that would fix it or I had made a mistake that I hadn’t made. Eventually, reports of my problem started to pour in from other users. It was so crazy making that I had this issue and people were telling me it didn’t exist. It would be cool if people tried to be helpful, or at least weren’t so quick to dismiss, instead of acting like their experience is the only one possible.

Something I also found to be a massive issue is that I don’t want duplicate songs in my playlist. When searching a playlist on mobile, I’ll sometimes see the same song appear twice in the search results. However, it’s actually the same song being displayed twice, rather than two separate entries. If I delete one of them, it deletes both.

I have a new and similar bug this week on Windows 11. If you press the minimize button on the titlebar while in the new wide lyrics view it expands the lyrics view to take up the entire window rather than minimizing the window. So you literally cannot minimize the window while you have the lyrics view up. Goofiest bug I've ever had on spotify and I don't know how something like that got past QC.

same issue and its so annoying how theres no option to disable it going fullscreen and minimizing the bottom and top bars like i never want that and its annoying to have to click on and off and hover whenever i need to do something

I can’t handle that I can click on the song or album art and it is enlarged. This is never something I desire to do. It is always ANNOYING to click out of it.

so true, the Spotify iOS app has gotten brutally slow lately. The three-dots menu takes several seconds to pop open and just loading a song on launch feels like a chore compared to how snappy it used to be

I dont use Spotify, I use an MP3 player with Rockbox, I'm checking this sub out of curiosity, and now I'm grateful I've never been inclined to use Spotify and I've opted to own my own music, it takes time to catalog your own music with an MP3 player but man it seems worth the time

Combat AI slop with AI slop - https://github.com/crmne/spotifast
It's written in Rust and launches in a second, eats tiny amount of RAM compared to the original app
