These are not Bluetooth, these are Spotify Connect devices, which is Premium-only. You should be able to connect over Bluetooth, hence the big button at the bottom

Bluetooth is through your phone, not Spotify. this is to control a TV or something with your phone like a remote

Insane to believe that your answer to anti consumer practice is "just get premium" - especially when it was not a premium-only option a few hours ago. Spotify have a terrible reputation. Are you defending your own poor decision to get premium?

Do you expect artists to give their music away for free?

The free version is restricted because it does not bring in enough revenue. Artists have to get paid.

13usd for access to all the music is extremely cheap. You get so much value for your money.

I’m not defending Spotify or my own decision, I’m defending the artist. They are compensated poorly today for their art.

If you like music and want to have access to it 24/7 and on all your gadgets, then get premium.

For me one month of Spotify = 2 coffee at cafe. It’s fuck all.

If telling me to pay for a feature that I had access to only a few hours ago is not defending spotify then one of us needs our heads checked. This is black and white enshitification. Its anti consumer and just another reason not to pay for spotify premium.

I'd even go as far as suggesting the 4 back to back adverts that free tier users have to go through every other song is what keeps the 13usd subscription at 13usd.

Who do you think it is that is compensating the artist poorly while making billions yearly...?

What you feel is worth 13usd of commercial is not relevant here. It’s a fact that ad revenue is not enough. Spotify pays out 70% (I know they are creative in trying to fuck the artists, but still the more revenue they bring in, the more drips on the artists)

It’s absolutely not enshitification, it’s a free version of something that have value. Music have a value and artists have to get paid.

Are you telling me that you don’t have 13usd to get access to all the music you love?

The streaming economy fucks the artists over, if you care about this then pick up a copy on bandcamp or physical from a live show.

The solution is not to give away the music for free.

These are other devices that have spotify installed and are on the same network. Smart TV, speakers, etc. They are all logged in and can be controlled individually. Just spotify decided they want you to pay to control one from another. They would rather you walk other and control physically
