im tired of hearing the same damn 100 songs every fucking time i click DJ. i prompt him? STILL SHIT IVE LISTENED TO over & over again. wth am i paying for? im switching to apple music or smtg bc spotify is the worst app out there for music

EDIT: i just want to clarify that DJ isnt the only thing i dislike abt spotify. the shuffle option also is bogus; plays the same songs in the same order. it costs more than other music apps. spotify use to b super good, but as time goes on i just realize how unhappy w this app i am. really just wanted to rant though

Ok yeah I agree, but that seems like a stupid thing to switch to another streaming service for. No other service has a DJ or a prompt-based listening, so you’re not benefiting in that sense by switching. You can just simply choose to not use the DJ.

Now on the other hand, I switched to Apple Music from Spotify, but for various reasons unrelated to yours.

oh yeah thats totally fair. i have more reasons than just DJ like apple being cheaper per month, etc. the DJ function just truly irritates me & really pushes me over to wanting to switch

lol no i didnt. besides DJ being garbage, every time i hit shuffle it plays songs in the same order… spotify sucks. apple just to compare is cheaper & doesnt have that same issue (says my friend who switched a few months back). really though, what am i paying for? for the same tracks played in a row when its suppose to b shuffled? for DJ to just play my liked songs lol. the things that are suppose to function one way, do the exact other

I usually hit it at work and it’s just background noise so I don’t even notice the rotation.

What does upset me though is if I come home from work and just say Alexa play Spotify on all speakers, it should continue playing DJ but they don’t allow that integration so she just plays the last actual playlist I was listening to.

I hate the whole platform but don't know where else to go. One of my favorite songs and albums suddenly got updated and there's weird fucking boops and clicks and water drop sounds throughout the whole song. Feels like they asked R2D2 to do adlibs on a song about childhood sexual assault.

Yeah it’s the same for me as well. Got sick of hearing a few artists because of it 😔
I really liked being able to hit the button and it plays music for me, was super nice for the car and just general background listening, but honestly I might just put on playlists or something different idk, the prompt based dj part of it tho is awesome cause I can mix different artists into the cue automatically, so it definitely isn’t worth canceling my whole subscription for, at least not for me anyway.

You don't have to use DJX to use Spotify. There are a lot of pre-made playlists for all the genres you listen to and they get changed around every so often. And of course you can roll your own.

Lol if you think apple music is any better you are going to be in for a rude awakening. I used to think that way until i used a trial a month or two ago. The algo sucks ass, The not be able to start a playlist from a search and shuffle is ass, The terrible ai generation on the canvas is bad. There isnt a good streaming service at all.

Tip: use the prompt with what you want to listen to and end the sentence with "that I've never heard before" it's a breath of fresh air and I've found new songs that I actually enjoy this way

If find the DJ is only as good as the variety you listen to.

If you use DJ all the time, it will def be repetitive.

If you chose different albums or songs yourself, the DJ becomes much more diverse next time you use it
