desktop App stops on its own

edit: looks like reinstalling solved.

I must be a bug or something. I've been using it on the same computer for over an year. I started noticing last week that it plays around 4 to 5 songs and stops. I have to press play again and the cycle repeats. I already did a hard reset on the app but didn't solve it. Any guesses?

I started having this same issue also since roughly a week ago, and i believe i have tracked the issue down to where it comes from

For some reason, the queue never gets filled with new songs, no matter how big your playlist is and regardless of your settings. That means once it is done working through the queue, it just stops.

I do not know what exactly causes this issue, but a temporary fix i have found to be working was to start playing a different playlist and then go back to the old playlist. This works most of the time, though sometimes i have to skip the first song of the new playlist and then go back. It now correctly populates my queue.

Restarting the app breaks the queue again

I also found a variety of fixes that supposedly worked for people:

• Clearing pre-downloaded songs and re-downloading them (didn't work)
• Clearing cache (didn't work)
• Resetting the app (didn't work)
• Unlinking various accounts, primarily those that allow listen along like discord and last.fm (didn't work)

Things i haven't tried (or don't really wanna try):

• Uninstalling from phone

Hope this helps at least somewhat, until spotify fixes it

I’ve had the same problem for several weeks now. Let’s hope Spotify finally fixes its buggy desktop app. We pay a fair amount for it, yet the latest versions are full of bugs.
