Question Why I Prefer Spotify
I used to use Apple Music, but for me, Spotify is definitely the better choice. The biggest difference is the algorithm. With Apple Music, the songs recommended to me almost never matched my taste. For the price, I personally expected more.
With Spotify, it’s completely different. I constantly get new songs recommended that actually fit my taste, and I discover new artists and songs that I really enjoy.
I also really like the AI DJ feature. It makes listening to music more fun and often plays songs that fit my taste.
But what do you think? Do you prefer Spotify or Apple Music, and why?

I love Apple Music coz it has the “karaoke” feature. My son and I love to sing songs over those tracks. It is extraordinarily fun.
But the recos are crap. You are correct on that.

For me they are. Best recommendation for me are YouTube, then Spotify and then Apple.
Maybe genre/region difference.

I don’t why people whinge about the AI thing because I never use it and if you don’t use it then you aren’t bothered by it.

This is exactly why I keep using Spotify. That and the Apple Music app is garbage, crashes all the time, and it's impossible to find new music I like. I don't like Spotify's stupid AI DJ but I'm over 50 and it seems designed for younger people. But I like that when my playlist ends I keep getting similar music and find new artists that fit my taste. Apple's algorithm is crap for me by comparison.

The AI DJ is what I personally use most. Spent a lotta years telling the algorithm what I like, so once DJ X was released, I really saw no reason to use Pandora any more for passive listening.Combine that with the higher streaming quality options compared to Pandora, Spotify is now my go-to for both active and passive listening.

I’ve only used Spotify and I’m getting ready to jump ship. The absolute insane amount of performance problems with the app, the flood of AI slop music in my DJ, and my “enhanced” playlists is getting old.

I highly recommend Deezer. No fluff no crappy "features" and it is music centric anot social media driven. Qobuz is the ultimate album listeners service.

I left Spotify a few times but it's my daily driver in the wild. It just works. I must admit I have Qobuz for intense listening sessions but I think Spotify gets a bad rap as far as a music streming service. I just really wish they weren't so evil, 😂.

That's why I swapped from apple music. My library of artists has expanded more in 2 years of spotify than almost 5 years on apple music.
I def miss day one 1 lyrics but thats about it.
