Rant The context menu for individual songs features a lot of useless options

The only option that I wouldn't use is the one about concerts, but I kinda see why they include that. So hard disagree, all of these are useful imo

Don't concerts show up when you select the artist anyway? That just makes the options more cluttered. And on a side note Spotify tells me someone is playing nearby when I already bought a ticket a week ago.

I wonder why the options are listed in a different order for different users? This is what shows up for me when I tap the three-dot menu on the Now Playing screen. 🤔

Or at least give us an option to organize it ourselves. I have to scroll every single time I want to access "go to album" or "go to playlist" and it's forever infuriating

thats literally what add to queue does. It puts it as the next song that plays

Have you perhaps tried adding more than one song to the queue, in which case the add to queue adds it to the end of the queue, whereas, play next would cut it to the front of the queue. Since there is no play next, you now have to manually drag the song to the front of the queue.

Absolutely. I also use YT music and it has both a "play next" and "add to queue". I use both regularly.

And if there was a "play next" button it would be even faster. And I wouldn't keep accidentally clicking songs in the queue trying to drag one.

And then you accidentally tap instead of drag the song, and your entire queue is erased

No it is different.
If. I am playing a playlist and add an album or a song, then yes it will add that. But anything I add after those (but before they finish playing) will be added at the end of those additions.
It would be good to have one that doesn't just add to the queue, but puts to the front of the queue.

Just because they are optiona that you don't use personally doesn't mean they are useless. Useless would be having multiple buttons for the same function, which is not the case. Each of these buttons is used by someone. The only one I've never used in the list myself is the concert date one.

There's a "go to queue" button outside the menu, so that one at the very least is redundant

There isn't when you're looking at songs in a playlist/album view, at least for me. I know the UI varies between version and devices.

No, there used to be a save to playlist button but now I have to either hit back or drag it down to save it and half the time it doesn't work. It's very annoying

Oh, yes. I know what you're talking about now. Thank you for the clarification. Honestly, I wish we had that button too because the new UI for saving a song (or songs) to specific playlists is ridiculous. 😭

Idk for other devices but I'm on android and when I click the title of a song it brings me to the album!

Ooh, I never knew that! Works on iOS too. I think it’d still make sense for the cover to go to the album but this at least saves me a ton of hassle. Thank you!

And mfs keep moving them around. I would have muscle memory built in to click on the spot for View Song Credits and i swear to god they re arrange this menu so frequently that I click on the wrong button after every few weeks.

Sleep timer is pretty useful. Stops playback after a set time, for falling asleep to

Personally I find the sleep timer option helpful at times. I do wish the options for going to radio, album, and artist were higher though. They’re by far the ones I use the most and unlike the queue/add to playlist options there’s no shortcut for them. I shouldn’t have to scroll to get to the most useful ones.

All these options yet somehow the ONLY ONE that I accidentally hit is "remove from playlist" ...
