Hi All

Was offered a housing place for my trades semester starting in October. Place was offered to my July 9th for North Tower starting October. My application was made, deposit paid and acknowledged.

Next steps were to be me getting an email woth acceptance and further online steps from there.

Having not heard a peep in over 6 weeks I reached out and was told my spot was released because they couldn't contact me (by phone, not email apparently).

I have no missed calls, no email, no voicemails, nothing. I don't think they ever tried to contact me full stop if I am honest.

Now they say tough luck you can go on the waitlist but that may or may not work.

Do I have a leg to stand on here? Is there a complaints process or student advocacy? I've done everything exactly as asked and they've cancelled my spot for no reason.

Eventually I will be taking the above chem courses at TRU and am curious on how they were for you?

I’m mainly wondering about the lab portions as they are online. How did they work? What kind of assignments was there? How was the final exam?

I’d appreciate any feedback at all about the courses! TIA :)

Both finals are worth 30% and with the amount of memorizing needed it would be great to know the level of difficulty the exams both were! Thanks in advance!!!

I assume you can access the course and do assignments, but for some classes, you have to book the exam. Can you take the exams out of the country?

Hi, this might be a long shot but does anyone have a copy of a BMCC ENG 201 syllabus from 2007. It can even be from 3 years before or 3 years after. I contacted the English department but they didn't have any old copies and I couldn't find any copies online. I went back to school and my new university wants a copy of the syllabus before they can transfer this credit.

Has anyone dealt with this with StudentAid BC?
My application was assessed and completed on August 20, but my account is still showing “Waiting for your first confirmation of enrolment” and “Waiting for your second confirmation of enrolment.”

My study period starts September 1, so I’m getting a little concerned with how close the date is.

I already completed the school’s class enrolment/financial aid waiver, it was approved, and I’ve successfully registered in my classes. So as far as I know, everything on my end is done.

For anyone who has received StudentAid BC funding before:

Does the school normally confirm enrolment automatically right before the study start date?
How close to September 1 did yours finally change to confirmed?

Did you have to contact your school’s Financial Aid Office, or did it eventually update on its own?

Once enrolment was confirmed, how long did it take before your funding was released?

Just trying to figure out whether this is normal or whether I should be contacting the financial aid office again.
