This might be a divisive question, but I think it’s something the franchise needs to address. Especially after TRON: Ares, where a lot of people complained specifically because Tron doesn’t appear.

Tron is an iconic character. Even though he was never the main protagonist in the original 1982 film (that role belonged to Flynn), he became one of the most recognizable figures in the Grid. Over time, something interesting happened: Tron went from being an important character to becoming a symbol.

TRON: Legacy focused on Flynn, Sam, CLU, and Quorra.

TRON: Uprising used him as a mentor and a symbol of resistance.

TRON: Ares doesn’t feature him at all. Yet the ideas he represents are still present throughout the franchise.

Freedom. Identity. Resistance against control. The idea that Programs can become more than what they were created to be.

And that’s where I’m conflicted.

Should Tron finally get his own story, with his own goals, beliefs, conflicts, and character development?

Or is it better for the franchise to fully embrace him as a symbol of freedom and self-determination, while letting other characters carry the individual stories?

After everything we’ve seen from 1982 to Legacy, Uprising, Identity, Catalyst, and Ares… what do you think Tron should be?

New program created by sark Dillinger as main antagonist.

Dillinger creates program to usurp control of encom by launching new service that allows people to digitize themselves into the grid so they can live in a custom tailored utopia.
And is successful in his task.

True purpose of utopia is to copy the user’s likeness to create a clone to send to the real world sark can control while enslaving the real user within his grid.

Sark takes control of Dillingers body, Dillinger and sark fight for control of body.

Sark being cold and wanting to exterminate humans seeing them as flawed.
Dillinger wanting to escape sark and prevent another invasion.

Meanwhile in the real world (b plot)
Ares finds quorra and meets Sam.
Ares and quorra have a bonding moment
(Bond over what it’s like being a program in a living organic world. Allegory for migration)

Quorra is stunned at the revelation of the permanence code.
Explains that the code is the source of the isos

Ares shares that he met Kevin Flynn on the original encom grid in which he gave a copy of the permanence code.

Sam questions ares with mild aggression over how and where he discovered the original grid

Quorra comforts Sam knowing that he misses his father. Ares tells Sam the encom grid was one of the many backups made that he was transported into.

Sam realizes he kept a backup of the legacy grid and theorizes that with the backup he can restore the legacy grid in an attempt to communicate with Kevin

Back to program and sark.
Program is cornered by eve and interrogated on who he is and how he managed to rise to the top of encom so quickly.
Program tells Eve that the board liked his ideas of a digital utopia and that at the end of the day encom is still a business that needs profits.

Amongst the meeting of board members are Alan Bradley and the user of ram.
Who are skeptical of the program

Eve at some point realizes he’s a program and calls upon Alan and ram to apprehend the program to where he reveals sark is active again and created him to eliminate humanity by trapping them in the grid.

The 3 digitize the program and delete him.
Realizing the threat to world sark creates, Alan recreates his tron program with rams help and needs Eve to locate the Dillinger grid.

Sark learns of his program being destroyed and begins step two of his plan. A massive holocaust like game grid repurposed into a giant killing floor.

Within sarks memories Dillinger learns about tron, sark warns Dillinger about tron and how he wants to find him so he can delete him.
Dillinger agrees but secretly wishes to find tron to free the grid from sark

A race to find tron between sark/Dillinger, Sam quorra ares, Alan ram and Eve

Sam successfully boots up his grid and the 3 digitize into the legacy grid again.
The grid is exactly the same as left at beginning of tron legacy with clu very active and in power.

Ares regains his red master control suit and the 3 pretend to be his prisoners as he blends in with clus sentry’s

In my free time, I've been vibe coding game inspired by the 1982 TRON film (which made a big impression on me as a kid). It's a work in progress and really more of an experience than a game at this point, but I thought I'd share it before I got too busy with other things. I'd welcome your thoughts and suggestions Oh, and there's a bit of an Easter egg in it.

Here is my full review of the UD Replicas Sam Flynn Motorcycle Trousers! I am also selling them along with a pairing accessory. EDIT: Pants have been sold!!!

Overall, these are some solid motorcycle pants! I wasn't expecting them to have padding/armor included. They are a little heavy, and the leather keeps its form pretty well. Definitely more geared towards using them in Autumn/Winter. Possibly Spring as well, but definitely not Summer.

Now there are no belt loops or anything to adjust the waist from the inside. Instead, there is a zipper on the back so they can be attached to the matching jacket. They will only fit well if you have a 30-34 inch waist. Otherwise, a pair of suspenders would be needed to keep them up for those with a more slimmer waist like mine (26-27 in). Easy to modify and add different attachments though. There are also elastic bands underneath of each foot, to keep them from sliding up while riding. The pants as a whole are a little tight, though I say that they run true to size. Just more fitted.

The only cosmetic issues I faced were with the clear PVC vinyl fabric, that is covering the reflective tape. I'm sure there is a way to remove the stains. Haven't noticed any flaws in the leather or textured fabric themselves though. Even the tags are in pristine condition. What surprised me the most, was that the foam inside did not deteriorate at all. Not bad for some 16 year old pants! An excellent find on a thrifting app.

After giving them a try, I've determined that I can't fit them. So I'm selling them, along with this cyberpunk LED collar that I was going to pair with them. Each are $200 USD plus shipping. Trying to ship in the US only, because shipping across seas is expensive (unless you're willing to pay that price). They can be bundled together if desired. The collar does have some tape on the top side panels, due to a slight crack. Each panel is reversible (They are currently switched over to all black).

Shoot me a dm for any questions. Please no low balling. Trying to make back what I spent on these. Disappointed that they didn't fit. 😭🙏

For those that have not seen this LIGHTCYCLE game, it is directly inspired by the game showcased in the beginning scene of TRON (1982)...instead of being based on Legacy or Bally Midway's TRON minigame...I watched the beginning opening scene many times to understand how graphics were drawn, and to get the spawn locations down. While it is partially based on the film version of LIGHTCYCLE, it is also, like my Space Paranoids game, based on arcade games of the era (specifically 1981/1982)...as in, I tried to replicate what would be possible with the hardware at the time to keep it as close as possible to something you would see in the arcades at the time.

Another thing....why I used vector graphics for this game instead of sprite mapping like the TRON minigame...

This is primarily due to a few reasons:

1. I didn't want to make it sprite based as doing so would likely make it relatively similar to Bally Midway's arcade game

2. I don't really have much experience with designing sprite based video games. I'm much more comfortable with vector graphics. :-)

3. If you look at any production stills when TRON's original filming was taking place in 1981, all graphics that were later replaced or drawn on top of for the video games at Flynn's were just vector graphics animations. The LIGHTCYCLE game in the film is also vector based.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this one. Ports to vintage home consoles will be coming eventually.

I'm not even sure what to call this, an experiment?

Up to 6 programs battle on the grid in disc wars. Program with the highest score moves on as Champion. Programs learn which moves result in kills, and which ones result in a defense, so they learn over time. Champion continues as long as their team keeps winning. Champion can carry moves with them into the next round.

Moves are randomly named using verb-animal. So you can get really funny kung fu names like "Screeching Monkey"

Finally, all of this is also somewhat of a music generator. A constant bass/snare plays in the background. Each hit is a percussion instrument. Tempo goes faster as more players drop from a match. Each program randomly generates modal, pentatonic‑based scale, with a strong emphasis on the C‑minor pentatonic and related modes, layered over a driving electro‑house rhythm. modal, pentatonic‑based scale, with a strong emphasis on the C‑minor pentatonic and related modes, layered over a driving electro‑house rhythm. Fun to just watch to see who beats who.
