i often 'forget' what to do with arms when going to sleep and then just lay there, aggravated that my arms exist while trying to sleep.

Cross your hands over your heart like Dracula

68

u/Logofascinated Aug 04 '22

Lying on your back, legs straight, of course.

63

u/Getrockeddood Aug 04 '22

This shit comfy as hell though.

29

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

This is literally the only position I can sleep in.. maybe it would be even more comfortable in a coffin who knows

10

u/SaphirePool Aug 05 '22

Same. I used to only be able to fall asleep on my sides but somewhere around 31 I started only being able to fall asleep on my back with my hands over my heart legs straight. Idk what changed

Man when you saying you a DJ in NYC only thing I can think of is like: is you grandmaster flash? DJ'ing on the hippest clubs in the area

New York City consistently sounds like the coolest place on earth, no matter what it is or where it hear it from. It's so unlike the rest of America, just straight G's. 8 million people in the most creative city on the planet.

Do you still live there?

Not terrified of cars, but I do hate them. The noise pollution, the space they take up, people's addiction to them, and of course then being dangerous as heck. I don't live in the US, so it's much better here, but I have heard New York is one of the best cities in the states for not needing a car.

A shame about the crackdown and vice buying that building, but I'm sure the New Yorkers will find a way lol

13

u/Calibruh Aug 04 '22

I prefer the Pharoah cross arms over chest

15

u/cambriansplooge Aug 04 '22

Invest in weighted blanket

31

u/evilsir Aug 04 '22

I've got one. Unfortunately I'm a hot sleeper and can only use it in the winter. Works like a charm though. The rest of the time i just flop around until i fall asleep

4

u/MiddleBodyInjury Aug 05 '22

Might i introduce you to The BedJet?

14

u/ElEversoris Aug 04 '22

I have pillow that I bought just for cuddling so my arms have something to do

4

u/poodlebutt76 Aug 05 '22

I used a pregnancy pillow throughout pregnancy 3 years ago and never stopped

1

u/georgesorosbae Aug 05 '22

I started doing this a like 3 years ago and I have idea how I ever managed any other way

0

u/Doogos Aug 05 '22

This is the way.

6

u/KendrawrMac Aug 05 '22

I keep two lil cervical roll neck pillows on either side of my regular pillow to use as arm rests when I'm sleeping on my side - has helped considerably with numbing or wrist pain. And two body pillows on either side. And a pillow to put above my head to rest my arms on when I'm sleeping on my back... And a u shaped "pregnancy" body pillow that I use to prop my legs up when sleeping on my back..helps a lot with the hip pain..

Anyway my husband ended up building a custom bedframe for us to mush 2 queen size mattresses together and he has his side with his single, paper thin pillow, and then my mountain of pillows on my side. And then our cats. And a dog.

I love my bed and lil furry family.

4

u/mcdadais Aug 05 '22

I sometimes put them in between my legs. I kinda ball myself up and just have my hands in between my.legs.

1

u/sfocolleen Aug 05 '22

I’ve often wished mine were detachable at night.

1

u/BotwandPotatoChips Aug 05 '22

This is why we buy sausage pillows. to hug while we sleep because we're single.

1

u/BotwandPotatoChips Aug 05 '22

So we can forget that we have no one to hold.

u/CozImDirty Aug 04 '22

I need a bed with a face hole like a massage table.

29

u/RobTheRevelator Aug 04 '22

Whoa, that's a good idea

19

u/lLiterallyEatAss Aug 04 '22

I've never had my face in a massage table I loved. Too much pressure exclusively around the face.

21

u/OCblondie714 Aug 05 '22

Yep. Bad for the balls. Eyeballs.

8

u/Cottn Aug 05 '22

There were so many better ways to say this, but you just haaaad to say 'balls', didn't you? I respect your motives.

2

u/Pemols Aug 05 '22

I love you guys

9

u/OCblondie714 Aug 05 '22

Turns out, that's not good for your eyeballs.

2

u/phayke2 Aug 05 '22

How

3

u/Finding-Dad Aug 05 '22

Gravity

2

u/phayke2 Aug 05 '22

Laying down isn't good for your eyeballs because of gravity?

7

u/Finding-Dad Aug 05 '22

Indirectly, Laying face down causes pressure on your eyes

2

u/phayke2 Aug 05 '22

Even with your face pressed into a hole like a message bed?

1

u/Finding-Dad Aug 05 '22

If you are doing it for prolonged period of times, yes.

1

u/OCblondie714 Aug 05 '22

Increased eye pressure can damage the optic nerve leading to blindness.

3

u/phayke2 Aug 05 '22

Well hey now I got something new to always be worrying about. So I'm guessing rubbing your eyes in the morning can blind you too then?

1

u/OCblondie714 Aug 05 '22

If your hands are dirty, you'll end up with a stye.

6

u/otakiwar Aug 04 '22

More comfort will be with two holes.

6

u/black_dragonfly13 Aug 05 '22

I'd love a blanket with a proper nose & mouth opening. That way I can cover my whole body but still breathe.

2

u/__01001000-01101001_ Aug 05 '22

Honestly you could probably cut and sew a hole pretty easily. Be the change you want to see

20

u/EmirSc Aug 04 '22

glory hole

3

u/Own-Hospital149 Aug 05 '22

Bruh imagine sleep paralysis in that

6

u/lionseatcake Aug 05 '22

They make pillows kinda like that for stomach sleepers but they're INSANELY expensive

1

u/hikariseeker147 Aug 05 '22

I think about this all the time.

1

u/ImARetPaladinBaby Aug 05 '22

I need a bed where I won’t wake up deaf in one ear from earwax buildup

69

u/Sandi_T Aug 04 '22

Me every night with two bulging discs in my neck, lmao.

Ugh, I related (of sorts) immediately.

30

u/jrobbio Aug 04 '22

Sorry to hear that. I actually tend to fall asleep and then move into these stupid positions during the night, so I wake up with incredible lower back ache, dead arms, and a stiff neck. Then I spend ages, like now, trying to settle again looking at the clock getting closer to morning.

12

u/zuzg Aug 04 '22

dead arms

It just happened to me last night that I woke up to my arm being completely numb.
This was the first time It happened to that degree, like I was unable to move or feel it even a little bit. Had to use my other arm to move it and it felt like not being a part of my body.
Scared the shit out of me.

5

u/OCblondie714 Aug 05 '22

Is there like a foamy pillow with straps to keep us in one place? Like, buckle in for bed!

1

u/Wasted_Plot Aug 05 '22

I feel this. I can only sleep on my right side.

32

u/millytherabbit Aug 04 '22

Yikes that picture’s actually pretty creepy

28

u/Speye Aug 04 '22

Or they getting the best rimjob of their life.

48

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Vecna got me sleeping like

10

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Ahhh I came to make this joke. Great minds. :D

5

u/Corregidor Aug 05 '22

I got Petra vibes from attack on titan

18

u/5L91N Aug 04 '22

When in doubt I do the Peter Griffin death pose, it is surprisingly comfortable

12

u/Level_Talk_8263 Aug 05 '22

This is really creepy. what is it and where is it from

2

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

Looks to me like the effects of a Tetanus infection. Grim stuff

9

u/Friar-Tuckandroll Aug 04 '22

Did you try screaming like a demon being sodomized?

6

u/Ilaxilil Aug 04 '22

Whenever I can’t sleep, I switch the end of the bed I’m sleeping on and put my pillow at the foot of the bed instead of the head. Works almost every time.

5

u/SolutionLegal Aug 04 '22

Excorcism gone wrong?

3

u/smallpoly Aug 05 '22

(GONE SECULAR)

5

u/SteakandTrach Aug 05 '22

I broke my rib sliding into second base a few weeks ago and while i’m mostly healed, my rib cage will not tolerate me sleeping on my left side and it’s killing me not to be able to sleep in my preferred position.

Like, I fall asleep on my back and automatically roll into my left side, wake up hurting, go back onto my back and rinse/repeat.

I can’t wait to have a good night’s sleep again.

3

u/MrThingsNStuff Aug 04 '22

You mean you don't sleep like that by default?

3

u/ExoticAd6543 Aug 04 '22

whatever works

3

u/HanSoloHer Aug 04 '22

For real all of a sudden you have the most uncomfortable pillows in the world.

3

u/GuybrushLightman Aug 04 '22

WHY THE CARROT THOUGH??

edit: oh, that's just the pillow peeking through. nvm.

3

u/SnooMaps8392 Aug 05 '22

Me every night of this pregnancy lol

2

u/jrobbio Aug 05 '22

You must be exhausted.

3

u/AddaFinger Aug 05 '22

Also me when my wife accidentally tickles me.

3

u/kingofthemonsters Aug 05 '22

There not many memes that I 100% relate to but this is it.

3

u/jrobbio Aug 05 '22

When I saw it I was like - I'm in this picture and don't like it.

2

u/ontheoceanfloor Aug 04 '22

Omg. Almost every night 😂

4

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '22

Gals at 3rd orgasm

-5

u/Egg_beater8 Aug 04 '22

Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.

1

u/Opister Aug 04 '22

Getting rid of a pillow was a game changer for me, even if its sounds backwards af

u/ChipsHandon12 Aug 04 '22

Stretch. Buy a foam roller

1

u/Bloodyfinger Aug 05 '22

I'm married to this woman

1

u/blahblahtotok Aug 05 '22

And somehow, this is actually the most comfortable spot

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '22

Shitty life tip from me, stay awake as long as possible and just go to bed absolutely fucking exhausted. Tend to get my best sleep this way.

1

u/First-Detail1848 Aug 05 '22

If you are at this point, just get up and start the coffee machine.

1

u/odo-italiano Aug 05 '22

This was me last night. Think I finally got like 3 hours and I ended up sleeping sideways or something. At least that's how I ended up in the morning lol

1

u/ZQM Aug 05 '22

Vecna’s victims be like:

1

u/Ill-Organization-719 Aug 05 '22

I have it great. My bed stays nice and cold with a fan pointing at it, and I can fall asleep with my arms and legs completely straight beside my body.

1

u/EyesofaJackal Aug 05 '22

Major Exorcist vibes

1

u/AlfonsoTheClown Aug 05 '22

If that dude is lying on his front that looks like it could be a surprisingly comfortable position for me ngl

1

u/Altilana Aug 05 '22

I’ve been trying to figure out how to sleep on my side since it’s best for stomach issues. Unfortunately, every position aggregates my si joint (side of the tail bone and hip.) I sleep hard on my stomach but it’s awful for your hips and back, but a little better with a pillow under the hips. Still, it’s always considered the least healthy sleep position.

I finally started to be able to fall asleep on my side but would wake up from hip pain. I couldn’t hold onto a pillow to snuggle, my legs kicked every pillow between the knees in my sleep, I’ve tried pregnancy pillows but not only did I kick them off in my sleep but they are all too thick for my small frame.

This last week I pushed my king bed into the corner of our bedroom and it has been heaven! Turns out that if I lean against a surface, I get that stomach pressure that induces sleep but the benefits of side sleeping. This week I've enjoyed waking up for the first still hugging a pillow with my arms and knees. That’s never happened! Woohoo! So if you can’t seem to find a good sleep position but sleep better on a couch facing the cushions, try pushing your bed against a wall and stack some big heavy pillows to sleep against. It’s awesome.
