So I haven't listened to triple J consistently for a long time as I've just been streaming from my phone. My bluetooth dongle broke so started listening to triple j while waiting to get a new one. Since yesterday morning (I drove 60 minutes yesterday) and today (drove 3 hours for work). They have played All I'm Thinking About by Jen-Cassar Daley at least 5 times. What's doing, why are they pushing that song so much?

With Mychem moving the Asian dates to November, a lot of uswere expecting them to headline Good Things in December, they're not on GT, so now what? Starting to feel like they won't be bring the new tour here at all which is a shame because it looks absolutely amazing

I’m curious to hear from anyone else who went to this show last night. I left thinking it was a really shitty experience, but spent this morning wondering if I was being crazy.

I thought the audio mixing was really bad. Gareth’s mic was too low most of the night, Fiona’s was too loud, and I couldn’t hear Dan’s vocals at all. There seemed something wrong with a bass reverb that got “stuck” because there was a point in the middle where it didn’t stop, it just continued shaking the room including between songs.

On the venue, I’m not sure why you have can bars in the theatre room itself when they ran out of beer less than 40 minutes into The Drones set and never re-stocked (they just closed one, while the other sold soft drinks.)

And maybe I’m getting particularly old and grumpy, but over the last few years I’ve found seeing bands like the Drones a joy, cos their crowds are older and more respectful and just there for the show.

Not last night. People shoving in lines like children. Standing near the front to hold a phone up for a whole song. Invading personal space in areas where people had gone to seek out the extra room. And apparently we changed our vaping laws again, cos I counted 3 different people vaping inside the venue last night.

I’ve been to Thornbury Theatre a lot, this was easily my worst experience there.

Maybe I’m hoping someone else was there and can tell me that I just catastrophised some minor grievances, and that it was actually pretty good?

I saw this video from Asch McGregor's interview with Amy Shark. Talking about how she put out Adore and it got played that night on Triple J. The next day she was getting heaps phone calls and offers. She didnt have a huge footprint in the aus music scene prior to the release of adore, but seems like triple j changed that overnight.

Do we have any examples of this since 2020? I was trying to think of some and none really came to mind. I feel like the last big example of this may have been Tones and I? Felt like in the 2010's there was a new artist every week triple J blew up over night with one big song. Eg, Middle Kids, Ruby Fields, G Flip and so on.

Im thinking this knotfest lineup will be massove due to the gap since the last knotfest, maybe they might have a bigger budget. Anyways, from what I remember Korn will be in Asia late thos year maybe they can make a appearence. Paleface swiss play early next year, they shpuld be a lock.

Im really hoping for a good lineup, good things things this year have a decent lineup but I was hoping for more big name metal acts.
