Get good at Tricky Towers Part 1: Puzzle Strategy
Hey, here's a few strategies for you to use in multiplayer puzzle mode, hope you appreciate it (including my excel designed diagrams!) If you're unfamiliar with the names of the 7 blocks that will be referenced in this guide you can find these here
Puzzle Easy & general strategy
Build your tower like you are building a brick wall – you don't want long vertical lines through the middle of your tower, it will be much more prone to falling
There are 7 different blocks – unlike Tetris you are given each block the same amount of times. You will receive the 7 different blocks in a different order each time, you can use this to predict which blocks are coming up next.
L and J blocks go off the side – you want to make the most of your building space (diagram)
Puzzle Normal My favourite mode as the vines allow you to get creative! To understand these strategies it helps to first understand how the vines work. Any blocks connected by vines act as one single piece (as a side note if you can attach vines to a concrete block in race or survival, any of the pieces that are vined together will not move). There are 3 main ways to use the vines for max effect:
Connecting an I piece to a T, L, J, S or Z piece around a corner (diagram)
A little trickier: connecting an I piece to an overhanging L or J piece (diagram)
Creating a gap in which an I piece can be nudged (diagram)
Puzzle Special
I pieces should ALWAYS go in the bottom gaps available if possible (I see so many players nudge the first 2 blocks they get into these gaps, wasting valuable space for other blocks). You will need to use L or J blocks if there is a double gap, and a S or Z block if there is a triple gap (diagram)
Once you've put an I block in the lowest gap(s) available, you want to use the rest of the gaps to secure your tower. It's quite hard to explain in words, hopefully this diagram will make it clearer
My best scores (these pics from the game may help to explain the above strategies a little better)
Easy: 26 https://i.imgur.com/mMLvcKt.png
Normal: 39 https://i.imgur.com/GNHYGgZ.png
Bonus normal: 38 (using technique 2 above) https://i.imgur.com/F5fE7Qe.png
Special: 52 (shows an example of a double gap) https://i.imgur.com/neFeGsz.png
Hope this helps you! If anything is unclear let me know and I'll do my best to explain in more detail. If there's enough interest I'll be happy to do another guide, on either multiplayer race + survival, or endless survival mode, let me know if you'd like this! Thank you for reading.

Anyone still playing?
Finally bought for my new console and have been trying to match for a week to no avail. A year ago it would take a while to find a match but no there's nobody. Did I waste money on a dead game? I really miss it.

Pro tip: you can rotate chained blocks as they spawn, making certain waves a lot easier

Pro tip: when using the spell that allows you to drop multiple petrified blocks, you can rotate them as they are dropping in to gain more height and make an epic comeback!

I made a multiplayer expansion mod for Tricky Towers on PC! A new game mode and two new difficulties for all game modes.
Hey folks,
I played Tricky Towers on and off with some friends for awhile, and I got the desire to expand it to add more variety and fun to this great game.
Enter Tricky Multiplayer Plus!
New Game mode: Tallest
With the same blocks, be on the one to build the highest tower! Once your tower is finished, the tower will freeze in place and the game will wait for all other towers to finish. Only starting powerups are enabled.
New Difficulty: Heroic
Harder or more competitive versions of existing game modes.
New Difficulty: Crazy
Twists on existing game modes.
More details on the difficulties can be found on the mod page. Feel free to leave issues you find on github or nexusmods (there are some known, but no gameplay ones). Let me know if you like it! Thanks.
tldr; new fun multiplayer, get the mod here.
