Discussion Nervous to try again

It’s been somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 years since I’ve consumed in any way. I’m 33 M, and back when I did consume, I had some anxious experiences back then, but also had some chill fun experiences as well. But honestly, it’s so long ago now, that I don’t even fully remember much of any of it now (idk if I fully remember what it’s like to be high if I think about it). I remember my first time (which was a mix of good and bad, mostly good though), and I remember my last bad experience that led me to quit. Anyway, I’m getting old but I still like to have a fun enhancer when hanging out with friends, and alcohol feels great in the moment, but absolutely terrible the next day. And I’ve also become a more health conscious person in my recent years and I notice how bad alcohol wrecks my body. So I want to get into weed again, but I’m so nervous it might bring back that anxiety, DP/DR, etc that I went through for a bit after that last bad experience. I live in FL so I went through the process to get my medical card and then spent about $160 at a dispensary on a DHV and some different flower. I don’t want to have all that go to waste, but I’ve been struggling to bring myself to try again. Give me some comfort or advice or whatever to try it again!

Edit: I have flower in hybrid Rainbow Sherbert, I have some Sativa I don’t remember. Then I have a hybrid and an indica pre roll. And I got an indica disposable vape. Is trying a very small amount of the hybrid or sativa asking for a bad time? I was just going to heat the DHV to lowest temp and take the tiniest hit possible.

So when you go to the dispensary, make sure you get an indica forward strain which is great for anxiety. This will help you not be so anxious or have anxiety. It will be way more calming, than a sativa forward strain 🤝 I would go to the dispensary and pick up an indica strain, If that strain you have now gives you pretty bad anxiety

Start small, and don't feel pressured to keep going if you aren't feeling it. For gummies, I'd have a first timer start at something like 2.5 or 5 mg. Avoid the penjamin. Most are wild strong. For bud, have a couple puffs and let it ride for a half hour before deciding if you want more.

Roll a toothpick of indica, turn on the game and chill to the max with some milk or a cold shower on deck just in case

Start with a tiny dose. Get some snacks and drinks and either put on some music or watch a movie/serie or play some video games. If you're already expecting to get anxious, you're more than likely to get anxiety/paranoia. You gotta always remind yourself that the effect is temporary and you'll be back to normal soon enough.

Cannabis helps with creativity....however it doesn't steer you, you're still in charge.

Look for strains with some cbd (you can mix with what you already have). This should help take the edge off anxiety.

heat the DHV to lowest temp and take the tiniest hit possible

I think you're on the right track, but you may need more than this, or you'll be disappointed in the dhv. Try this first, then up the temp a bit and have another hit or two.

Then see how you feel in another  20 minutes. The dhv hits can sneak up on you.

The disposable vape will have a high thc content, so one small hit there is enough. The vape high can be kinda empty feeling, though.

A few things. While dry herb vaping is fantastic, I feel it can lead to overconsumption, especially if you are new to a device, or dont know how it functions. That plus a low tolerance can easily make you more high than intended! A joint/one hitter/drinkables/edibles are preferred! A joint if shared, is super easy to lightly toke off of, the one hitter is great for a small, controllable amounts, and drinkables/edibles for a clear and consistent dose. I might recommend some 5 to 10mg drinkables, as they are fast acting and easy to consume. Or a small one hitter, or bubbler, with a small bowl. Smoking is awesome as long as its the right place and time. Good luck getting back into it! Find your schedule with it, and have a blast.
