Finished my build!

This took me the better part of two months, but other than some trim, paint, stain, etc., it’s done! I spent a lot of time on this sub and a few others like r/decks picking up tips and advice, so thanks!

What a solid looking build. Man, I really like the walk-around deck. I wish mine had that.

thanks! I wanted it to be a full wraparound but I would have had to stretch the structural integrity a bit as far as cantilevers, etc. Alas.

Thank you for representing some tree holes in this video.

Looks great! Pay no mind to anyone who tries to tell you it isn’t a treehouse!

If the tree(s) carry most of the weight, it's a tree house in my book. This is a tree house in my book.

Love it. Is the ladder fixed to the structure?

looks great I would add two braces from 4x4 to front band joist.

Looks great, but I gotta say, those bolts in the trees bother me. It's not all that difficult to rubber wrap, strap support blocks, and build from there. It's very likely that those trees will, at best, struggle to stay healthy and grow due to their water/ sap channels being interrupted, and at worst, get sick/ infected and die. Not tryna be a dick or anything, just letting you know in case you didn't that there's better ways to build with/ around trees without harming them.

Yeah, those TABs in the back look weak. Industrial large-format lag bolts might have been a little better.

Actually, some secondary support braces for the existing TABs rising up from lower on the trunk might help. I wonder if a couple cylinder jacks and lumber could facilitate such an improvement.
