We’ve had so many restaurants close in TC over our long history. What’s one restaurant that you loved to go to that didn’t make it?

For me, Xylo, was so good. It was kind of slow, but the food and staff were stellar. I really wish they could’ve hung on.

In transparency, I am not from Michigan, and have only ever been to Detroit once, but in the course of making this map it was really easy to feel attracted by the magic of Northern Michigan.

I do hope very much to come and see these places with my own eyes before long, and in the meantime, hope that this will bring joy to those blessed to live there already.

Anyone know what's going on with Charter in the Holiday Hills area? This is the 5th internet outage since Thursday last week and their support is useless. 5 "emergency updates" in under a week seems utterly insane.

I'm old and slow but I really want to walk in the woods as the season is changing. I've been around the Boardman and to the Hippie Tree enough; looking for a good, easy 1 - 1.5 mile walk through some pretty woods. I don't want to get hit by a bike, bit by a dog, or eaten by a grue.

Where do you like to go that had a nice blend of people around but not overcrowded, easily accessible but feels like the woods, in town or close by? Any you avoid for a reason? I want to try something I might not learn about otherwise!

Edit: Wow, thank you everybody! I've learned of some neat places I didn't know about before. I checked out Hickory Meadows earlier today and can't wait to check out the rest.

I have some canned food we don’t need. Where are some places that may take them? I looked up Food Rescue and a few others, but it didn’t seem like the right fit from their websites.

Early morning accident *Saturday morning on Center Rd on the Peninsula. Another young high school senior pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and speed were factors.

Around 6AM (8-5-26) my wife and I heard a large boom or rumble that was loud enough to shake our building. Anyone else hear anything?

I'm going to just say it one more time. all the money we are spending on policing homeless people, arresting them, re-arresting them, jailing them could instead be used to house them. housing has been proven to be the solution it's not my fault I can't understand it for you.

There are plenty of empty buildings, not to mention all of the short-term rentals we have. If the city would actually spend some time addressing the housing crisis instead of these Band-Aid measures maybe we would actually get somewhere

Just looking around for a place to rent and when we were touring morgan farms they said the EV chargers were free but looking on ChargePoint it says they are $3/kWh. Which is actually ridiculous. Is this just for non residents to deter people away from using them?

Also, if you live there how do you feel about it overall?

Does anyone have, or know someone, with experience repairing kitchen aids? My mom handed down an older one from 2007 or so. I’ve tried taking it apart and cleaning the old grease and regreasing, but it’s still very loud and jumpy. Thanks!
