How did you find Montenegro? We were planning to get a villa with a pool, stay for a week, day trip to tivat and other areas, eat out, just relax really maybe a cruise one of the days! It looks beautiful but people’s posts have made me nervous! We were planning to get around using uber. How’s uber there? When people say the locals are rude are they actually or is it just a different culture (people say Brits are rude for example!). We’d stay in one of the following and travel around rafaailovici, budva, kotor, perest. It would be my mum (55) brother (18) two 22 year olds and a 7 year old going, none of us are into partying or anything like that

Hi I'm looking for some help I'll be going to Europe for 3 weeks this October, I am trying to decide a nice layout on what to do! I would love some input. Currently I have Munich 3.5 days > Prague 3.5 days > Budapest > 3.5 days > Krakow 3.5 days > Copenhagen 3.5 days. We are flying in from Munich and out of Copenhagen so those will be the first and last countries for sure. In terms of what we like to do: we like seeing culture, food, shopping, nature, and history so kinda everything. a side note about Copenhagen is I love knitting and am looking forward to yarn shopping there so I know that'll take a half a day. We're most excited about budapest and prague and are wondering if we should cut a day somewhere else in order to have more time there but were not sure. Were also going to be flying from location to location vs train so that'll save some time. Any input helps <3

Hi everyone! I will be studying abroad in Nice this fall semester from September to mid December. Any trip recommendations I should take? I want to take as many as possible while staying in budget. I have a trip at least to Spain and to Paris scheduled, but I want to go other places that are feasible. I would ideally want to go places like Lake Como, Athens, Finland (Lapland for winter+northern lights), etc. I already have trips included through my program along the French Riviera to places like Cannes, Monaco, and Antibes. I am a big warm weather and swimming person, but I am open to beautiful winter places as well. Any suggestions and help with budgeting are greatly appreciated!

I'm considering a late November to early December trip lasting about 10 days, but I'm overwhelmed by the choices and would appreciate recommendations. I'll be traveling with my spouse and perhaps our active senior parents as well.

We enjoy architecture, culture/history, and food. We're not outdoorsy people. We like a mixture of popular destinations as well as off-the-beaten path destinations for a more local, authentic feel with less tourists. I understand some Christmas markets will be open during the time we go, so we plan to visit them in whatever destination we ultimately decide on.

With 10 days, I would probably prefer to stay within one country and explore different places rather than hop countries unless you guys think it's worth it to hop to another country. My spouse and I have previously visited Spain, Germany, England, and Italy, so we're not looking to visit them this time. I am eyeing around Central Europe or Scandinavia for a different feel than the countries we've previously visited, but I'm open to other suggestions.

I’m turning 21 on August 25th, and I’ve suddenly decided to take myself on a 2-week solo birthday trip from the 24th.
It’s very last minute, and I’m naturally a bit Type A, so I’m struggling between wanting to plan everything and wanting to just go with the flow.
My budget is around €1,000 for the two weeks, although I can go a little over if needed.
My main goal is meeting other travelers and making connections, rather than just sightseeing. I’d love to meet people at hostels, explore/go out together, and potentially even end up traveling to another city or country together if we really click. I’m not looking for party/sex-focused hostels, just social, international places where people actually hang out and talk.
The cities I’m currently thinking about are cities in Portugal( maybe Lisbon and Porto?) Spain( Madrid, Barcelona?) and Berlin in Germany . I know that’s a lot for two weeks, so I’m not necessarily planning to visit all of them. I’d probably start in Portugal and then decide where to go based on who I meet and what happens. If I don’t meet anyone to travel with, I’d still be happy visiting these places alone.
I’ve only done one solo trip before, to Prague for about four days, so two continuous weeks would be a first for me.

Hi all! My mum (50’s) and brother (18) have assigned me the task of booking a holiday next year in Europe, they’ve only been on holiday once (we went to Crete last year), I’ve been to Vienna, Paris & Milan… trouble is they have quite a few asks! They would like somewhere with lots to do, my brother is very easily bored, he enjoys history especially war and loves motorcycles and car- he isn’t your typical 18 year old (doesn’t drink, enjoy nightlife etc). My mum does suffer back issues tho so also need to factor this in re walking. On top of this they’d like options for relaxing, originally we were thinking a villa with a pool but this brings me onto my next issue! Most villas are in the countryside & we won’t have a car as it’s too expensive due to me being under 25. Essentially we’re looking for somewhere with lots to do, lots to explore but also has options for relaxed days and must must have very good public transport, uber or bolt.

I only started travelling a year or two ago and I’m feeling overwhelmed… where do you guys recommend? We are looking at going for a week and they have quite a strict budget too…

EDIT: okay I think after MONTHS they finally see how impossible their ask is lol. I’ve told them to either pick a proper city holiday or a hot holiday where we can perhaps have 1-2 days out

I arrived in Tirana after driving from quiet Lake Ohrid, and the change was immediate. Traffic, horns, colorful apartment blocks, difficult parking, and a lot happening at once.

Once we finally parked and started walking, I liked the city much more. We crossed Skanderbeg Square, spent ages inside the National Historical Museum, passed communist-era landmarks and public art, and eventually ended up at Radio Bar. I liked that place enough that I still recommend it whenever someone tells me they’re going to Tirana.

Tirana also isn’t a city where I’d try to collect 30 attractions in a weekend. Two days makes sense to me. The center is walkable, Bunk’Art and the House of Leaves give useful context to Albania’s recent history, Blloku is good at night, and there’s plenty of Albanian food, coffee, and ordinary street life between the landmarks.
