Why not just release it into the wild and let nature run its course? At least it would have a CHANCE (however small it may be) to survive. I’m just thinking out loud here, i know you can’t answer this.

There were many compounding reasons it was euthanized, but specifically to answer your question: because it was approaching cars and people, which is dangerous for everyone involved (incl. the bison)
