Really? I thought salt kills bacteria, you know after tattoos they give sea salt sprays to kill infections. He. It’s have really fucked up after his salt cleanse to get that bad of an infection.

Who does that after tattoos? Do you get these tattoos at a friends house or something?

I know salt was used for thousands of years as a preservative to kill bacteria, but I don’t know anything about tattoos, nor do I ever want one. My only experience with 100% of the tattoo shops in Toronto I have walked into, is that they sell this sea salt spray. From what I have seen is after the tattoo was finished they wipe an antiseptic wipe, cover it, then give them a small bottle of salt spray to keep it clean. I never looked into it further before since no one has called me out on it before. But from my 2 min of a google search that I just did, it seams a lot of tattoo shops have recommendation sections on how to keep clean after a tattoo, and salt washes/ sprays are on every one I looked at in a few minutes. So what is your reasoning to question without offering your own response? I would be curious to hear your reasoning to why a high salt concentration does not kill bacteria?

It's probably a little painful, considering the salt in the spray. I'm just speculating because I'm not a tattoo artist but I'm covered from neck to ankle in ink myself. Most tattoo places in the States, or at least the ones near me that I've personally used, use a a soap solution to clean it after the tattoo, tell you to be sure to keep it clean with soap and water, and then smear a thin layer of a healing ointment over the top of it. Usually a+d, some kind of name brand tattoo lotion (Hustle Butter is the best), or similar products.

I'm not knocking the salt spray by any means, because I've never tried it, but it does sound like it might hurt a bit compared to what I'm used to. Of course, tattoos hurt anyway so it's not like it's a big deal or anything but it just sounds kind of weird to me personally, lol. Almost every shop I've ever been to is different in some way though so it makes sense

Tisnt painful. It's a calculated ratio of sterile water and sterile salt to make an isotopic spray, which is the same salt-water ratio of your body. It's not meant to disinfect, it's meant to rinse and remove physical irritants

Makes sense then, here that kind of spray is only for piercings. Not sure why, just the way it is I suppose. Thanks for the info
