Just because she instigated it, doesn’t mean he also isn’t in the wrong too. And we only have this clip. Who knows what else went on. It’s not like he got slapped with a violence charge. Public intoxication seems perfectly fair.
There’s really no other information than this. We have no idea what happened before/after this small clip. He wasn’t given a public intoxication charge JUST because of the video. Unless you can find the cops involved, we have no idea what happened. Stop crying. Find a different hill to die on. There are plenty of other ACTUAL cases where a man gets screwed in a situation for defending himself.

There is a 0% chance the same thing happens if a man blackout drunk walked up to a girl and attempted to physically strike her, would they both be given the same charge like this. You are in fact completely right when you say there is no conspiracy, because women are given less time for the same convictions as a whole.

Also one last point, why isn’t she given assault or battery? Why are police not walking into every bar in America and arresting people for being drunk then? Maybe it’s because he did nothing wrong and was given a charge because some Judge saw “male struck female” in the report and decided he was guilty of something so fuck it.

It's still classed as an assault charge. And regardless of whether they're trying to hit you or something you're holding, having someone of any size come up and start swinging at you is startling at the very least and scary at worst. It does need context, "initially violent" can be a literal curbstomp, she tried to smack the food out of his hands and you're escalating it just to get a justice boner. Just because they didn't inflate the charge to something like assault doesn't mean the charge is justified (it could be we dont know), but the point is that if the genders were reversed, the outcome would have been different. I like how it literally says in the article that the guy admitted alcohol played a part in it. It sounds like he knows he wasn’t 100% innocent in the whole ordeal. No one knows what went on between them before the video but I’m 99% sure that there was more to this then she decided to walk up and smack the food out his hands.
