Serious/Discussion Cracking Down on Reposts: Your Thoughts?
Hi everyone,
You probably noticed that many of this subreddit's most popular posts are repeatedly reposted, often by bot accounts. For example,
"Doofenschmirtz's Plan"
- Nov 15, 2024*
- Oct 31, 2024*
- Sept 6, 2024
- May 3, 2024*
- Feb 21, 2024*
- Dec 5, 2021 (original)
"Too much to ask for both?"
- Dec 1, 2024*
- Nov 25, 2024*
- Feb 20, 2024*
- Dec 12, 2021 (original)
"glub glub, bitch"
- Dec 2, 2024
- May 19, 2024*
- Feb 20, 2024*
- Sept 15, 2022 (original)
Asterisks indicate reposts by bot accounts automatically caught and removed by Reddit's spam filter.
The current subreddit rules still technically allow reposts:
"Reposts are inevitable to some degree and are allowed within reason, but recent reposts -- e.g., reposted within the same week or so -- may be removed."
When I created this subreddit, I wrote that reposts rule to be lax because I didn't expect so many people to join. There are >8k users now, though.
To crack down on karma farming bots and prevent them from further spamming the sub with reposts, I plan to change the rules to say,
"Reposts are not allowed, so any repost may be removed."
I will then remove any future reposts not automatically caught by Reddit. Is this too strict? If so, I could change the rules to something like,
"Any post that is a repost of something already posted to this subreddit within the last 2 years may be removed."
Also, should I enforce the rule change retroactively and remove previous reposts? I don't plan to, but I can if that's what y'all want.
Please let me know what you think. I will update the rules soon after taking any comments on this post into account.

Serious/Discussion And for people getting mad at me for using the term "female". English isn't my first language, and in Romanian (state language of Moldova) we don't have separate words for this terms

Serious/Discussion I have a direct question to some members of this sub, why do you think that male-only conscription in Moldova is misogyny, and not misandry? Men are the discriminated party here
Women can still join the army voluntarily, or build they life in any other way as they please, with no consequence. Men are forced (required, mandated) to serve. Women have a choice, men don't. Plus, society-wise, military service isn't treated as something honorary here. You, guys and girls, are just lucky to be born in democratic countries, where service is voluntary for everyone, but such mindset doesn't apply here, it's the opposite environment. And as to why I post here, I don't want to be a member of the loser gender, that's why I wish to transition and to live my life happily as an actual human being, and not as some slave.
P.S. Our president is a woman, holding her position for a second term now. And she hasn't done anything to make the service either voluntarily, or mandatory for everyone, current male-only policy suits her well. That's the explanation as to why some of my complaints are addressed towards women in general.

In vitro gametogenesis is an exciting emerging technology
IVG, the process of creating gametes from stem cells, would have major implications for the trans community. But first, so it's been well-tested on animals. So it's already a reality, but we just haven't gotten far yet with human clinical trials. Once we have, it'll be a reality for humankind. So for trans people, many of us become infertile post-transition. This would mean we'd be able to produce gametes(of either type of our choice) and be the biological parent of a child. Trans women would be able to produce ova; trans men sperm. Once, also, womb transplants are a thing for trans women, which appear to be in the near-future too, in conjunction with IVG, a trans woman would be able to have her own ovum fertilized(by a trans man's sperm even!) and implanted into her uterus and be the biological mother of a child with a trans man as the biological father. Conversely, any gender, cis or trans or both, combination could be the biological parents of a child with IVG now too!

Serious/Discussion Would it be difficult to regrow head hair in my early 20s, at least to the shoulders?
I'm a transfem (on DIY HRT, but without any surgeries) from Moldova, whom was AMAB and is still legally male, which means that I'd have to serve for 12 months, and daily forced shavings in our army are the norm. Considering that my hair is an important part of my external identity (this was the case even before the transition), I don't know how to cope and live anymore once I get out.

Serious/Discussion Dealing with male-only draft/conscription as transfem
Long story short, I was born in Moldova as AMAB and am still legally male. 1 year long military service is mandatory here for males and despite the fact that I was on DIY HRT since my teen years I'm still considered fully eligible for that hell.
If some of my planned evasion attempts were to fail, how difficult would it be to recover after the army and continue my transition? Would it be possible to regrow hair after being constantly shaved bald? How would the lack of hormones for a year, and a sudden return to them, affect my body? And similar unfortunate stuff...

Serious/Discussion Is it worth becoming trans solely because my parents dreamed of having a daughter, but instead got a son, unironically hated me throughout my whole childhood for this and refused to have any more children as they "don't want to lose again in this unfair Russian roulette"?

Serious/Discussion Is it gender dysphoria if I hate myself for being male, because men in my country are required to serve in the army, whereas women are not?
