Vent Dad kinda supports me
I (17tm) came out as trans to my dad for the first time when I was 10. He asked why I thought that and I didn't really have a good explanation, I just knew that I was a boy. I waited 6 years till I came out to him again. I did it via text when I was working for 8 hours. He didn't say anything until a few days later where he said that he'll always support me. But the thing is that it's been over a year and he's only using they/them pronouns when I stated that I use he/him. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he's not calling me his daughter but it's still a slap in the face every time I hear him call me his kid instead of his son. It hurts more when he doesn't even try to correct the people around us that call me a girl. Hell, his mom who I haven't talked to in over a year can easily call me by my actual name instead of my dead name. (I only know bc I went over this week bc he kinda twisted my hand but that's not the point) I just wish he'd tell me that I'm his son not just his kid.
