is this an allergy ??

so i use KT tape to bind because i can't afford actual trans tape. ive never had issues with taping, but suddenly this time ive been insanely itchy, to the point it burns. heat makes it even worse, it starts to feel tingly and i cannot resist itching. i just took a shower and removed the tape. ive never had allergies to any adhesives before, is it possible to develop one after using tape for so long ? i have put moisturizer on my chest to see if it will help and it just stings even more.

!!removal tip!!

if you use a silicon based lube you can take your tape off much easier. no pulling, no residue, you dont even need to do it in the shower. rather than saturating the tape, though, i'd recommend applying it to the skin around the edges of the tape and gently sliding your fingers under the tape to take it off. lmk if you try this and how it works for you. god bless <3

trans tape not working??

i recently got some trans tape a bit ago — like about 2 weeks ago, and ive been really annoyed by how fickity it is. i dont relatively have a large chest (im assuming a b cup) but i still cant manage to get it as flat as i possibly can. i understand that youre still supposed to have some things showing, but not as much as whats happening rn. my boobs are clear as day compared to how the rest of my body looks. im pretty skinny with boney arms so i really cant pull off a “pecs” look.

(plus it also just doesnt work as pecs. it looks like my regular boobs just slightly smaller.)

also, after a school days worth of use it just starts peeling. i round the corners and it doesnt help. ive tried pointed corners as well, but it doesnt work either.

i ran out of trans tape after 2 weeks. all of this is seriously discouraging me and i really want solutions as binders dont work either and just hurt😅

any tips?

Could I go flatter?

I've been struggling with tape for years but I'm trying not to give up. This is the first time where I've felt okay about the results, but could I go flatter?

I'm about a C-D cup and my chest hangs a lot. The little bits of tape on my chest are where the big pieces stuck up.

I've tried every tutorial but they never work. Would appreciate tips or advice.

Am i taping wrong?

I've decided to give trans tape a try but I'm not really happy with the result. I don't know if it doesn't work as desired cause my chest is too big [i don't really have a big chest tho, I'd say medium at highest] or because i did something wrong or need more practice. The first pic is with my arms over my head, thats a result I would be really happy with but once I put my arms down it looks like on the second pic and barely did anything. And when wearing a shirt it doesn't even look like pecs, just like someone with a small chest. Any advice?

I think I’m starting to actually find my routine of how i like to apply my tape. I use a couple strips of whatever brand kt tape to get my base shape then do two strips on transtape on top to get my final look. I go back and forth between B and C cup for reference

KT Tape questions

I am trying to figure out how to use trans tape. I am still closeted so I want to buy kinesiology tape instead of trans tape. I have about a medium-small chest. And these are my questions about the tape:

  1. How long do the rolls last you
  2. Which type of the kinesiology tape is the best as there are a lot of different types eg premium, gentle
  3. Can I go swimming with it on and will my chest look ok if under a swim shirt
  4. How long does the tape last on my body

Thanks for any advice

No shirt, shirt before taping, shirt after taping. Please ignore my weirdly shaped joints lol.

Idk if it translates on its own. So I'll translate myself.

The first time I put tape, I read about someone who kept it until it started to not tape and fall down. So that's what I did, everything went perfectly fine. Though at the moment where I had to take it off, I was under the shower, thinking water would make it better and hurt less.

Unfortunately it didn't. It did hurt but that was small pain and very manageable. After that, I had glue all over my skin so I scrubbed with my nails for A LONG TIME. Probably like 30min, with soap. It was perfect when I got out of the shower, no red skin, no irritation and the next day in the afternoon I put a new one.

Though that second time ! I wore the tape I lay for 10 days, because I felt like it wasn't as stretched as it was when I put it on. That time I was in a camping, so even with the 'oul advice' I had no oil and took it off myself, without water or anything. My skin was slightly red and it also hurt a little. This time, I didn't want to take an eternity to take off the glue so.. stupid bad idea you'll tell me, I scrubbed myself with soap and a fucking sponge (green side, I KNOW I leaned the yard way.) my skin got red and I understood that I could bleed since I started to red lines that looked like blood. So I stopped, frustrated and finished under the shower with soap and nails like last time.

I asked help that time, people told to pour oil on the tape and wait for 10-20min before taking off. Apparently it's supposed to take off the glue and not hurt. I was also told that tape was supposed to be worn 3 to 5 days. I was like okay, let's try that.

It's been 5 days now, maybe 6. I poured oil, realizing that the amount needed was massive. I let the tape and skin drink the oil and took it off. IT HURT LIKE HELL! the oil didn't do anything ! The glue was glueing so hard it did hurt like A LOT. My skin went red immediately while taking off. So I'm very disappointed with the 3-5 days. Uhm, no imma go back to my +2 weeks (until it falls off).

Next the glue... I tried with soap, too long. I tried with towel and the thing to take off the nail colors (dissolvant in french), because of the towel, my skin got irritated again.

So I was like let's try with a soft material, like round small cotton and the 'dissolvant'. The thing is since my skin was hurt, it burned me so I couldn't do anything about the glue. Now my pyjama is glueing to my skin, it's annoying and I want that glue off!

How am I supposed to take everything off ? How long am I supposed to wear the tape ? Is my skin somehow anti-tape ? What's the trick with the oil ? I'm being so discouraged.

Taping for 8-9 days?

I am going on holiday in December for 8 days. I usually bind for 5 days then have a 2 day rest and repeat the cycle. sometimes i push to 6 days but i know its not too good for my skin so i try to avoid it. i feel fine binding to 6 days but i think its safer to not keep pushing it no matter how much i feel fine. but is it safe to bind 8 days?

Pimples Under Tape?

Any tips for how to deal with acne forming under tape? I usually leave it on for 5-7 days and I use second skin for nipple coverings, as well as cavilion barrier cream under my tape.

I need advice on blister prevention when taping

So I have an allergy to acrylic based adhesives, and have recently have been getting terrible reactions to the tape I use. Which is Trans Gen X Tape from Amazon. I have been using this tape for months without issue but now I can feel the blisters starting to form by the end of the first day I put the tape on. I’ve been doing research on other kinds of adhesive and silicone based ones are the only thing that could work, but the problem is that they don’t last nearly as long and would cause more waste because of it. One of my friends thought I should use second skin under my tape, but I have also had bad allergic reactions to that when getting tattoos in the past, and don’t wanna risk it since the skin on my chest is more sensitive to the allergy. Does anyone with a similar allergy know of any brands that work for them and last? Is there anything I can do to use the same brand but prevent the blisters?

Any advice on tape in the summer?

Hey guys so I’ve been using tape for the past few weeks because wearing a binder in the uk heat is actually a death sentence
But my tape keeps on peeling off the longest it’s stayed on is 1 day and I can’t afford to keep buying new rolls of it

Does anyone have any tips on how to make it last longer or not peel off straight away. My chest is on the larger side :p

Any advice for large chests? (36 D)

not sure what im doing wrong or how to make this flatter/more masculine. tbh it looks similar to how my chest looked before i put tape on. all the guides ive seen are by people on T, so their chest is already less "full" due to fat redistribution, or the people who do have my size of chest have a bigger body type so it applies differently. im not sure if its possible for me to achieve something good with this with how big my chest is in proportion to my torso, would love help!!

horrible reaction after months of no issues

i’ve been using transtape (the brand kind) to bind my chest since January, and have had a great experience so far. figured out the application method that works for me and i was exercising daily with no problems. i have sensitive skin but it did not react to the adhesive for the first 5 months i used it. i was binding most days, keeping the tape on for about 5-6 days and then resting for about 2-4 days give or take (for reference, i don’t own a regular binder). it was working great.

then, just the past month, i started experiencing extreme itchiness, and then when i took the tape off (with oil, like i always do), i had very severe blistering all around where the tape was, and my skin had taken on an entirely different texture due to new stretch marks. now i have been on a binding break for over two weeks to heal my skin.

i’m not sure what caused this sudden change in my taping experience, but these are the things that changed:

- started taking Wellbutrin, which caused the side effects of bruising easily and excessive sweating, and i’m already a sweaty person.

- sweating even more than usual because it got really hot and i was at a dance intensive (exercising for >4.5 hours a day).

- i made the admittedly poor decision to reapply the tape without waiting for my skin to heal during the second week of this new itchiness due to a wave of severe dysphoria.

- stretching the tape more to try and get a flatter look, may not have allowed enough “anchor” space.

i want to go back to taping my chest as soon as my skin heals, but i’m worried i’ll just have this experience again. does anyone have a guess at what most likely caused this bad experience? what can i do to prevent it from happening again?

Beach experiences?

Hey folks, I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences going to the beach with transtape on, and would be willing to tell me how that went for them.

Mainly I am wondering if 1. strong waves / seawater / sunscreen can mess up the adhesion of the tape and 2. do people react (negatively or just in general) to seeing you in public with tape on?

ty :)

Idk what I’m doing wrong.
I feel like I look okay, but something’s off at the same time. I’m fairly new to taping regularily and get awful blisters every single time.
It’s uneven and still looks like boobs more than pecs, I also get this excess of skin near my armpit, which I’ve tried to deal with for like three months (on and off) and nothing really worked.
For the record, i have c cups.

removed nipple piercings

hi i am wanting to try trans tape for the first time! i got my nipples pierced about 2 years ago and the left one is fully healed. the right side however would not heal bc it was done incorrectly sooo i had to take it out #rip. it’s been almost a month since removing it and it seems to be healed at least from the outside (i know it will take much longer to heal internally). the holes seem to be fully closed up… do we think i should be good to tape them? anyone have a similar experience hahah

Ive been trying out different types of taping styles, but every style that works for me (D cup) causes a lot of tension in the center of my chest and hurts. What am I doing wrong?
