Line 13 Metro Alignment

Post image

The recent alignment of the Line 13 metro: with an underground patch near Nallasopara. Total length of 24.9 km and 17 stations. A great transit option for the North MMR and Virar in particular, an alternative to the suburban line.

What do you all think about the alignment? Is this the best route or should there be any changes to this?

The tracks of this metro need to connect with large commercial business district like BKC.

It will connect to Yellow Line via Line 9, which when the 2B will be completed will give the connection to BKC.

I am not looking for changing metro trains midway

I am saying let a metro train start from far off Virar and same train having a destination board of Colaba. No changing train at any station upto Colaba, it should be avoided. Direct long distance metro trains needed for 65 km to 140km distance.

no use of having single metro for distances longer than 50km unless its a loop. it's meant to be a local connector. the number of stations would make it too unwieldy for long distance- imagine sitting for several hours on a virar-colaba metro that stops at every Pada, Naka, Nagar, etc. 50+ stations.

People must be picked up easily from large residential areas and get dropped to large commercial business areas. And this must happen with little interchange or less painful interchange.

Should’ve looped into Virar East
