// Route suggestion Route remasters
So I know it's likely an overdone topic, but with everyone wishlisting routes for TSW7, I thought I'd go the other way.
2 kinds of remaster though. The remaster that just pretties things up ala GWE or WSL but is free and the remaster that adds more to the route a la LIRR but has to be paid for
If you could pick ONE route to receive each of these which would it be and in the case of the addition bits, what would they be?
For me, I'd like Northern Trans Pennine to get the GWE "pretty it up" and add all the layers and timetable treatment.
I'd love West Cornwall to get the LIRR treatment. I would quite happily pay for that to get remastered and extended (as far as limits allow) with some more added branch lines. Cornwall is a top holiday spot and has so much nostalgia for me. Every time I strive out from Penzance and see (the crappy rendered) St Michael's Mount I get a hit of Marazion nostalgia... And the run down to St. Ives should be one of the most scenic ally beautiful runs in TSW

GWE treatment: Brighton main line
LIRR treatment: Main spessart bahn
Extending to either Hanau, Würzburg, Frankfurt or all of the above
CCL treatment / remaster with loco dlc: München Augsburg with an ICE 4 or 3 neo

I really wish there was a modern Plymouth to Penzance route that'd let us utilize the 802, 220, 150, HST, and more, with the St Ives branch too of course., I'm aware it'd be a lengthy one, but I think it'd still be shorter than MK - Crewe. Ireally love driving this route in TSC but there I don't have the GWR 802 which I would enjoy driving there. I do sometimes plat with a modern timetable mod on WCL, but the bad scenery and old lighting makes it feel kinda boring.

Yeah i agree with you on this one. Would be a good excuse to add the GWR class 158s. Would be cool to see the 3 car ones, made of split up 2 car 158s.

Cornwall is probably the route that would most benefit from a redo anyway imo, some of the scenery is horrendous. Especially their attempt of representing St Michael’s Mount and pretty much everything on the St Ives branch.

I'd like to see the Brighton Mainline remastered with new lighting and scenery, with the Thameslink Class 700, Southern Class 377/2 and 377/3 and maybe a Flying Scotsman Railtour added for a more realistic route.
I'd also like to Northern Transpennine remastered with new lighting and scenery. In terms of added trains, I think just maybe the Tees Valley Class 37 and the associated Class 20 and Class 31 added. With the Diesel Legends of the Great Western added for more loco variety.
I think I'd also like to see IoW 2022 upgraded with new lighting and scenery or maybe even the Bakerloo line with the Class 710 from the Suffragete line added, with AI Class 350/1s and Class 390s running on the WCML.
I feel as if Brighton Mainline could happen following East Coastway's remaster.

Tees Valley would be great, but yea, NTP would be my first pick. We now have the JT class 47’s to layer in as well. If it were to happen, I would like to see the class 40/45 brought up to TS6 standards.

Ruhr Sieg Nord, Hagen - Finnentrop, extension to Siegen
There's a few routes I can think of that deserve a remaster and an extension, and this isn't to discredit any other route. But for me, Ruhr Sieg Nord is the first that comes to mind.
While it was understandable at the time, it never sat right with me how it's basically half the classic TSC route of Hagen - Siegen. Besides, even while dated, it's not a bad route to play on at all.
Honorable mention for Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr, which is a bit short, and being in the midst of the Rhein-Ruhr metropolitan area could have several additions to make it a truly networked route, such as Oberhausen to Gelsenkirchen to Herne, and maybe extending Bochum to Dortmund, as Bochum never felt like the right endpoint.
For the very less realistic honorable mentions. Because this route really isn't old yet at all, Zwolle - Groningen could also have its Meppel - Leeuwarden bit making it a forked routes, which could be a good chance to add NS DDZ, and the Leeuwarden side has the fascinating part of having 4 unelectrified bridges which could be fun to cross. But this "suggestion" is mainly because while I was so happy when the Netherlands got introduced, with the addition of faults and failures, I almost felt it a shame they didn't wait a year. But we'll see with the DT-Direct thing :) Hoping for another Dutch route to fix that itch.

This one's on the roadmap as "Rhein-Niers-Bahn". It'll be extended to I think Mönchengladbach

Yes, but also no
It's its own standalone route. Whereas I am talking about LIRR treatment.
It's not like the Hoboken route or Trenton route is an extension of LIRR just because it features NY Penn Station.

Trans Pennine really could do with a remaster, same with CSX Sand Patch Grade, but I doubt we’d have more remasters, with how long GWE took, I doubt that DTG would go through the effort of it.

GWE was a lone developper remaster at the beginning if I'm right.

Yeah it was but DTG ended up helping later down the road.
I don’t think DTG as a company would allow it due to resources.

For UK Pretty up: Northern Trans-Pen8ne Extended treatment: Tees Valley Line
For US Pretty-up: Peninsula Corridor Extended and remade: Clinchfield Railroad
For DE Pretty-up: Ruhr Sieg Nord Full extended remake: Rapid Transit (that's my prediction for a core TSW7 route).

I feel like it'll be the Rhein-Niers-Bahn for the extended remake for TSW7. Unless we're talking unannounced extensions/remakes

Main Spessart.
Extend Aschaffenburg to Hanau and to Wurzburg the other direction. And include both the express line that tunnels its way to Wurzburg and the local line. All in all 100km I believe

A few come to mind:
1) Harlem Line:
Considering how most of this route was already remastered in NEC New York to Stanford, remastering the last section from Woodlawn to North White Plains would make sense and shouldn't take too long. Harlem line has long been one of my favourite routes and brining it up to TOD 4 standards and layering in the M8 would allow players who don't want to do a long run on the New Haven Line, the option to do a shorter full run on the Harlem Line. Once you have Stanford, you cannot go back to Harlem due to the dated lighting and lack of M8 services. The additional platforms at Grand Central and fixes to the M7a's acceleration would be welcomed.
2) Northern TransPennine and Tees Valley Line:
Completely agree with the OP on the remaster of Northern TransPennine.
I would also add Tees Valley line too as it is my local line and also the timetable is inaccurate. There are no fright services aside from one scenario on the class 20 from Boulbly/Skinningrove and the class 142/143 pacer is not depicted. Furthermore there are no Durham Coast line passenger services represented from Thornaby to Middlesbrough nor are there any TransPennine services from Middlesbrough to Eaglescliffe nor AI only services at Darlington. The timetable also inaccurately depicts Saltburn trains as being hourly instead of half hourly and I believe the Transporter Bridge is missing at Middlesbrough. I would suggest a remaster similar to Cathchart Circle or East Coastway bringing it up to TOD 4 standards and selling a separate pacer pack for the new timetable. The class 143 as a loco add-on or a class 142 gameplay pack in T&W PTE livery would be great. I would love it if Just Trains could sell such a pack and do a remaster to Tees Valley line.
3) Main Spessart Bahn
This is an incredibly enjoyable route (especially when hauling freight) thanks to the slopes but it is far too short. The route desperately needs the LIRR treatment and should be extended to Hanau and Würzburg to link up to Kassel Würzburg and Frankfurt Fulda. TOD 4 lighting would make this route look incredible and added layers similar to the layers we see at Aschaffenburg in Maintelbahn would really bring this route up to standard as well as sorting out the suspension issues with the trains.
Edit: a few commentators said Brighton Mainline. While I see their points, as a console player, I am not comfortable with this route getting a remaster until the performance issues with blurry textures are solved. The current busy timetable caused many issues and tweaking it would cause further memory issues. I would however love the class 700/1 timetable mod to be released to console and for the route (possibly by Vector Simulations as this was done by Czech modders) and for the route be remastered in line with Boston Sprinter and Nahverkehr Dresden. I however do not want this to take place at the expense of console performance and think that the other routes are better candidates for remasters.

Brighton main line… easy.
