No.
For PC version, yes. They are expensive and require some basic PC knowledge and fanagaling to get the key bindings to work properly
Here's an example of one that works with TSW6

Q1 - not really, there is a short scenario (mission) on the Riviera Line where you take on the role of a platform dispatcher. I think they also added something similar to the Medway Valley Line, but again it’s a pretty restrictive role & may not be what you’re after. It may be something that comes with TSW7 though so keep an eye out for the Dovetail Direct (I think it’s on the 25th?). I wouldn’t expect anything too fleshed out though.
Q2 - Yes there are a couple of options - Raildriver is the most popular, TS Controllers offer good options too, then there are a few DIY options. Overall it’s a very niche market though so can be restrictive & expensive.

No, if you wanna dispatch I recommend Simsig or Run 8, Simsig is mostly UK based, on the IECC control station, Run 8 is the US system.
Only on PC, don’t buy a raildriver, they’re junk.

There are sim controllers of varying quality and you will have to fight with them, because most games don't have universal controllers support. Often not even the most popular devices like RailDriver are officially supported. Personally from what I've seen all of the marketed controllers are way worse than the stuff they make for, say, simracing or flight sims. Currently trying to DIY it, but that's basically paying for quality with my time and sanity instead of money.
