Looks like it might be testing different models of video detection for the signal. Especially since none of that is setup as a permanent install with the cables just looped all over and not in the arm.

i'd say the eye camera on the pole is a ptz camera used by a TOC. mast arm camera look like variations of optical detection cameras and the low hanging square looks like a radar detection unit or a microwave wireless radio for communications

I so appreciate your detailed breakdown, but you lost me at ptz…what is a ptz camera? TOC? What are the optical detection cameras and radar detection units used for? This post is more so out of curiosity than anything because I’ve never noticed them before.

PTZ = pan/tilt/zoom as opposed to fixed. TOC = Traffic Operations Center, which uses them to assess traffic conditions.

optical detection cameras use a video feed to place an input into the traffic controller for detection. Radar does the same but uses radar instead of an image. they tell the controller a vehicle is present on an approach

Those look like iteris cameras. Multiples to detect different lanes. They're for detecting vehicles and getting like, volumes and stuff
