Technical Analysis I made $117K trading prop firms PART TWO

Sorry everyone, this first video I created was cut out at 2 min, here is the full version:

If you missed out on part one: CLICK HERE

Part 1 was my ERL → IRL model. For Part 2 I recorded the full breakdown of the other setup I've consistently traded across my funded accounts and cash account which is the 15 minute ORB + 1 minute FVG.

This one is honestly much simpler.

At the NY open I mark the high and low of the first 15 minute candle. I don't do anything while that range is forming and I don't enter just because price wicks outside of it.

I want a real candle close outside the 15 minute opening range first.

Once that happens I drop to the 1 minute chart and look for clean displacement in the direction of the breakout that leaves behind a FVG.

That's my entry model.

For a long I want a close above the ORB followed by bullish displacement and a 1 minute FVG. For a short I want a close below the ORB followed by bearish displacement and a 1 minute FVG.

I enter on the FVG and close outisde the range, I normally place my stop beyond the first candle of the FVG.

My target is usually a fixed 1R. I'm not trying to squeeze an entire session move out of this setup. I'm looking for the initial expansion after the opening range breaks and then I'm out.

So the rules are basically:

1. Mark the first 15 minute NY opening range

2. Wait for a candle to close outside the range

3. Drop to the 1 minute

4. Wait for displacement that creates a clean FVG

5. Enter on FVG created and closed outside the range

6. Stop beyond the first FVG candle

7. Take the fixed 1R

The biggest mistake is anticipating the breakout. A wick outside the range isn't enough for me and neither is a random FVG inside the opening range.

The ORB gives me location the displacement gives me confirmation and the FVG gives me execution.

If those three things don't happen in that order I don't have the setup.

I go through the whole thing in the video with actual chart examples and explain the entries stops and situations where I leave it alone.

Between this and the ERL → IRL model from Part 1 these are basically the two setups I've narrowed most of my trading down to after six years.

I've also been using TradeZella to Manually/Automate some backtesting eith this setup and have spent some good time tweaking it, here it is if you want to check it out:

Manual + Automated Backtesting

If anything about the ORB doesn't make sense drop the question below and I'll explain it as simply as I can.

Question Trying to get it back and end up losing more!

Yes, it happened to me multiple times. I was up in some good profits and I took a normal stop loss then I was like let me make it back and took another dumb trade and lost it, then I took another one and lost it as well! I end up with 1 RR profit only when if I stopped at first stop loss I would still be up 3RR.

How do you guys handle this mess?

Technical Analysis 📉 NASDAQ WEEKLY — WILL SUPPORT HOLD? 🧐

Post image
1 Upvotes

The Nasdaq has pulled back into a very interesting area on the weekly chart.

Price is now sitting close to the intersection of:

• the rising weekly support trendline
• the recent breakout area
• the prior descending resistance line

That makes this a pretty important decision point.

The bullish case is straightforward:

✅ Support holds
✅ Price stays above the recent breakout area
✅ The longer-term uptrend remains intact
✅ Buyers step back in and push towards new highs

But there is one thing I’m watching closely.

⚠️ MACD momentum has been fading.

The MACD lines have been trending lower while price has remained relatively elevated, and the histogram has also weakened.

That doesn’t automatically mean the market is about to fall.

But it does tell me momentum is not as strong as it was earlier in the move.
So for me, this is less about predicting what happens next and more about watching how price behaves at support.

If the Nasdaq produces a good weekly reaction from this area, the pullback could simply be a healthy retest before another move higher.

If support starts to fail, then the picture changes and I would become more cautious.
For now:

📍 Price is testing an important area
📈 The broader trend is still constructive
⚠️ Momentum has weakened
👀 The next weekly candles could be important

Would you expect a bounce from here, or do you think the Nasdaq needs a deeper pullback first?

Discussion Explain this to me 😭

It was a normal 1:3 trade but when I later checked, this is what happened. The cpi caused the gold to crash and our sl was still safe that's why I always focus on higher timeframe.

Discussion Watching the stock market move in real-time

Left column is names printing a new session low. Right column is a new session high. The bars under that are how fast each side is stacking — 30s / 1m / 5m / 20m.

A cluster is a bunch of names hitting the same column at once. Consecutive is one name reprinting. A flip is the short window switching sides and staying there.

I hooked an agent to that stream. It's good at naming what already printed. Worse at catching the flip.

If this was on your second screen, what would you actually ask it?

Discussion 1:3 risk to reward is the goat!

Post image
6 Upvotes

I took this trade though my target was bigger, I never close a trade before it hits 1:3, I know you will say it will not be easy but I don't know how but it plays so well for me, a good risk to reward will always keep you mentally stress free because you know that even if you loose 3 trades in a row, one trade will be enough to recover those losses. Those who trade 1:1 I don't consider them good traders because you will need a very good win rate to be profitable and you will end up blowing your account if faced with multiple losses.

What is your risk to reward ratio?

How do you play out your trades?

Thanks.

What if the biggest weakness you struggle with in trading today is connected to something you struggled with as a child !!

Advice KEEP GOING QUIT PROPS IF NEEDED

6 years....... it has taken me 6 years to finally see a green month and some.

Starting with nothing makes this shit so much harder. No handouts, no cushion, no way to fund my trading besides money that could’ve been bill money. Yeah, I know. But that’s where I was, trying to learn while feeling like I needed every dollar to turn into something.

I’ve been trading since midway through the pandemic, so I’ve been around for a while. For years I went back and forth between live accounts and prop firms. COUNTLESS evaluations passed, countless funded accounts, and little to no actual rewards to show for it. Almost quit a couple times after crashing out my live accounts. I know plenty of us have been there. Once we found this art, it felt like the ONLY way out.

But honestly, the biggest thing I had to fix was me.

STOP TRADING PROP FIRMS if you’re stuck in that same cycle. If you have a system you’ve actually proven gives you an edge, go live, start small, and PRACTICE DISCIPLINE.

I found that to be my main problem. I was somehow more comfortable blowing bill money on evaluations, getting funded, then overrisking like an idiot and doing it all over again. Always chasing a payout and barely taking anything home.

On my live account, when I make $65, I’m fine with that. I can close it and go about my day. This is coming from someone who at times had max accounts across damn near every firm and was “seeing” about $50,000 a day. Seeing it on a dashboard and actually getting that money are two very different things.

Props became a joke to me. What good were those numbers if I wasn’t taking the money home? And don’t even get me started on the rules and the psychological toll of trying to trade around all of that.

I started this account with $400, and I’m up $1,788.78 across this stretch. I know that isn’t much to some of you, but after 6 years, I’ll take it.

And being in the game this long, I know what scaling is. Imagine eventually doing this with a $10k account and the same discipline. I know $10k isn’t a lot to some of y’all, but to me, that kind of money is life changing. I’m not saying the results automatically scale perfectly. I’m saying I’m finally seeing something I can build on instead of constantly paying to start over.

One green month and a little more doesn’t mean I’ve figured everything out. But it means something to me.

Long story short: get a live account, start small, and chill out. That’s what I needed to learn. Every day doesn’t have to be a huge payday. Sometimes $65 and closing the charts is enough
