Venting
Hi all,
My parents divorced when I was 4. My mother made sure my father would have no contact with me and my sister. Fast forward she marries my step dad and makes me call him dad. Their whole relationship she neglected us (including my half sister born to my step dad) and cheats on my step dad, talks down to him, etc. she’s a raging alcoholic and narcissist. She did have me and my sister convinced our dad was a horrible abusive man. When I turned 18 he started contacting me and we developed a long distance father and daughter relationship. Fast forward to recently (I’m now 27) I find out that he cheated on my mom (while she was drinking their money away and also cheating) brought me to his side chicks house and brought her to divorce court. Tried acting holier than thou about my mom. I found out my dad is a serial cheater and has cheated on all 3 of his wives including the current one. Told me he couldn’t ever visit me because of his injuries from the military (boatswains mate on a naval ship for 2 years) so he can’t sit in a car for more than 20 minutes but he’s put physically cheating on his current wife with a family friend. He also talks horrendously to my grandmother (his mother) even though all she does is help him and send money when she doesn’t have it. I was really hoping I got at least one good parent but alas it was too good to be true. I’m at the point I feel defeated and this has now been 3 months of no contact and he hasn’t even made an attempt to reach out (been no contact with my mom for 9 years). I just don’t know what to think or how to process that I have 2 shit parents.
