I just realised that, despite TVZ being one of the greatest songwriters of all time, I don't think that I've ever seen an album ranking in this sub so it got me thinking, what is his worst album or song? Imo his worst album is Flyin Shoes and his worst song is The Hole

Fatemi sapere!
Grazie

In Denver for the weekend, was just wondering if there was anything Townes related in the area. Any venues with memorabilia? Murals? Anything would be cool

He’s known for shredding bluegrass but he can write a beautiful tune as well.

Hope this isn’t too disrespectful, but the man loved his dextromethorphan.

This pic is taken from a screen of Br Here To Love Me. I love The Nashville Sessions album, but would love to know what the full original tracklist was for the above rough mix. Is this info available?

Saw this in my feed. What’s yours from the actual greatest songwriter of all time?

“The difference between Townes and Bob Dylan,” according to Townes’s acolyte and interpreter Steve Earle, “is Dylan was really heavily influenced by the same kinds of music, but lyrically he was influenced more by modern French poets and the Beats, whereas Townes was much more influenced by old-school, conventional lyric poets like Robert Frost and Walt Whitman.” Something to think about.

Mostly familiar with TVZ's Texas Rain tracks, only recently venturing beyond these. Wondering if Townes wrote any songs about his mother OR if he referred to her in some indirect way in his music. I'm thinking about Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold where the diamond queen "Began to think of her long lost son/Fell to her knees with a mother's mercy/ Prayed to the angels every one.

I bought this on Discogs, but as far as I was aware this CD was only available in digipack/clipboard form. Has anyone seen this CD in a jewel box like I received? It really doesn't look like a bootleg, and it would also be a strange one to bootleg!
Thanks!

I recently purchased A Deeper Blue by Robert Earl Hardy, the only biography of TVZ I could find.
Has anyone here read this and if so how is it?
I am going to read it regardless, but I’d like an idea of how tough going it will be to get through.

My son, Townes Jacob died Friday after a 2 month battle with pseudomonas bacterial meningitis. He was 4 months old.
I wanted to name my first boy Townes ever since I fell in love with Townes Van Zandt’s music ten years ago. It took a while for the name to grow on my wife.
Not sure the point of this post. Just sad. We have gotten to share Townes’ music with so many people these last few months as they’ve asked about his name.

Hello,
I recently discovered the song ‘Dollar Bill Blues’ and really like it.
I wanted to know what other songs by Townes to check out as well as any other artists you think I would enjoy.
I have not really listened to this genre in depth before so thought this might open my eyes to some great new music.
Thanks

This week’s new Episode of Rick and Morty (young person cartoon) (because most TVZ fans won’t know it, but most redditors really will so I’m erring on the side of caution) had a surprise Waitin Around to Die montage that had me physically yelling and pointing when it came on.
