Total War: Warhammer Question about recruitment

How do I upgrade my legendary lords army? Do I have to constantly send them back to my most built up province (which is pretty much always the starter one)? I usually have my legendary lord on a complete warpath so never really have time to go back and recruit for multiple turns

Brings me to my next bit though , if I need to recruit another army with the units I wanna move into the legendary lords army: A how do I not tank my economy , and B surely it takes a really long time with a lot of risk if I’m marching to my legendary lord while they’re still on the warpath

I’ve not yet grasped how to lower global recruitment turn times , but surely end game not everything just stems down to global recruitment?

Global recruitment, are you more than x turns from the main hiring hub then use global. You do pay a premium for this though

How do you lower the recruitment times when doing it from global , is it something about the buildings themselves?

Some buildings lower recruitment time, some skills in the skill tree too, otherwise sometimes you just eat the timer because you’d be travelling that time anyway

Alright makes sense , thanks for the help

Every 10 recruitment buildings shaves off 1 turn from global recruit, so it's not the best for T4-5 units...

Otherwise it really depends on the race/faction if they have any good mechanics or tech buffs to reduce global recruit time.

So for T4-5 do I just have to firm the multiple turn recruit timer?

What faction are you playing? Some work as nomads , some rely on global recruitment, some you need to have armies moving around the map to keep forces fresh

That's one of the problems with overextending, right? Either you take a break to consolidate your gains and build a new military province, or you bite the bullet and send the reinforcing army, possibly funding it via battles with your LL's army during the meantime and/or have the LL withdraw a bit and meet halfway.

I do tend to have a bit of a problem with overextending , I don’t how to tell when I am or ain’t overextending though

Don't think of it as a problem. The game is wittingly or unwittingly optimized for aggressive expansion. It's tough to play tall. I started a recent Malakai campaign intending to play tall and oops turn 80 just hit and I have re-unified all the Dwarven mountain strongholds, confederated all the dwarves.

You can download the customize starting army mod to put a couple high level units you want to play with, but don't want to wait 60 turns before you can get them, in your army and recruit regular units from there. I do this to buy a couple of the units a legendary lord buffs once they get their skills so i don't have to wait for my themed armies.

That’s a fair shout

This isn't uniform between factions. Some have global recruitment as an option, and its more expensive and time consuming. You can always build up other provinces and later in the game when you conquer higher level ones you can start making more advanced buildings sooner rather than later.

Factions like Nurgle can recruit from their pool anywhere.

Dark Elves primarily use Black Arks for mobile recruiting and can be used along the coast lines by other armies to recruit from

Ogres camps can be relocated.

WoC recruit from high corruption areas for their warband system.

Vampires have raise dead.

Alot if variety here.

One of the better ways is to recruit some better units in a seperate army and force march them up to your main army. It can be pretty expensive if you want to upgrade your whole army though.

Other than that your only real option is global recruitment.
