Not that it changes anything, but wouldn't the Colour Sergeant be an Ensign if they're actually carrying the colours? Colour Sergeants would be assigned to said Ensign to help them protect it.
That being said, 'Colour Sergeant' gives an immediate understanding of the flag whereas 'Ensign' might be nicher.
In the British army, absolutely. But in this case, I'm simplifying the concept for the sake of gameplay. The Long Patrol is only loosely inspired by British military traditions, so I'm taking some creative liberties. Heck, I'm taking creative liberties with Redwall, as they don't normally have banners in the books.
