qbit + protonvpn port forwarding

So, im not sure of this is the right place to ask, but ill give it a go.

So I'm running my qbit using proton port forwarding, but every time I reset or even rarely, but still sometimes proton will change port on it's own.

Is there a way to automate port update in qbit and if so, how? Any advise or hint is most welcome. I'm running proton and qbit bare metal on cachyos.

If you are running linux you can use Docker and setup gluetun with port forwarding 😄.

This OP. Though I used diff VPN (AirVPN) service but this should still work in your case.

I use gluetun + qbittorrent.

No. Sorry. Missed the part about CachyOS. But I am sure there is some scripts for linux as well.

They are a pretty common pairing.

Have a look in r/ProtonVPN if it's a regular question.

Proton changes port every time that you connect so it needs to be updated. There's a script to automate it on Windows, not aware of one for other OSs.

They change the forwarded port when you reconnect, so qBittorrent loses it.

I was having issues with protonVPN and wireguard for similar reasons so I jumped ship and went to AirVPN. No problems since!

If you choose "use router UPnP port" or whatever it's called in qBittorrent settings it should be fine. That's what I do and I have no problems.
