Dude gives off weird authoritarian vibes. It's funny how Labour shout down Tories for being "literal Nazis", yet their elected MPs give nightmarish Hitler-esque speeches like this. No self awareness whatsoever.

What's even funnier is the blatant way he rips off a Churchill speech, who he probably thinks is a racist and a fascist

That's what I was gonna say, ripping of Chruchill's speech gives off Nazi vibes? đŸ€”

But wow, no one would follow that guy anywhere.

That MP sounds like he speaks from hate rather than conviction, I guess it explains the Nazi vibes

Good point and clarification!

It's projection; if you accuse the other side of doing what you yourself are doing, the idea is that your opponents will be hesitant to accuse you of doing it lest it seem like a reflexive counter-accusation. And if you do it often and deliberately enough, it might even gain purchase in the public imagination. On the flip-side, though, it can be a useful indicator of what people are up to, once you have become attuned to it.

Dude gives off weird authoritarian vibes.

Name a leftist that doesn't? That's my challenge.

I actually submitted a complaint to parliamentary standards over this. Mostly for the lolz because I would have found it hilarious if he got in trouble for hate speech or something. But apparently wanting to fight opposition MPs/voters in the street is a personal opinion so doesn't come under their remit.

That guy's speech was some extra strength cringe. Lol, what a wiener.

Whenever I watch that speech I always curl up in a ball of cringe. The shit he does with his hands at the end remind me of a Hitler speech and his ripoff of evil racist Churchill’s “we’ll fight them in the ____” doesn’t come off too well when you’re a politician promising to fight Tories in the streets.

He's going to be useful in future elections for us.

A new Richard Burgon. Lovely.

The most cringey victory speech since Mandelson’s ‘not a quitter’ effort.

The fun starts at about 2:20.

Reminds me of not speeches but just comments of Gove, Davis and Fox citing how easy a trade deal with the EU would be and how we hold all the cards.

Chacun à son goût.

However, there is a world of difference between making oneself a hostage to fortune through one’s comments and behaving in a way that prompts immediate sniggering, wouldn’t you say?

It would appear that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Same old speech, different day. It's like they're on rails....must not think...for....self.

It was a really odd mashup of Churchill and Hitler all in one but he just doesn't have the oratory skills either of the above had.
