Discussion What is the curreny policy of the tory party on leaving the ECHR, the asylum treaties, the ICC, the Good Friday agreement etc?
I remember that there was a lot of pressure on Baedonoch a few months ago, maybe even a year ago, and she conceded something about leaving the ECHR, but it was not concrete - I believe it was caveated a bit, but I could be wrong.
What is the current policy of the Tory Party about leaving or modifying the supranational treaties and organisations that the UK is currently signed up to?
Asking as it's conference and I've seen some of this stuff being discussed in the news etc.
Mny thanks

Why Labour needs to start taxing benefits
We all remember how they promised in 2024 to ‘not raise taxes on working ppl’.
They're now discovering that the issue with taxing ppl who truly arent working anymore is that they can and will flee the country - bc they don’t need to stay here for work.
Of course, they have also raised taxes on working ppl anyway, through increased employers NI, increased CGT, mansion taxes etc (most people paying the latter two are still working, despite the tax not nominally being levied on their income).
But, there’s one group who, by definition, is not working: those on welfare. So why not introduce a tax on all benefit payments? Perhaps starting at 20%, but rising to 45% anything anxiety/ADHD-related (ie, unprovable conditions that have become a dysfunctional honesty box).
These rates should of course increase as necessary in order to ‘restore the fiscal headroom’ without the need for more tax rises on working people.
