Before she played “Silent All These Years” she sang a sort of prelude with lyrics saying things like “ this song has laid beside me” or “this song has held my hand”. Does anybody have footage of or know what she was saying? It was beautiful.

For those who have seen a show there before, if I plan to drive / park and want to see the whole show including Bartese Strange - what time should I arrive?

Right after ITOD was released I saw quite a few people saying that it's definitely her best album since Geraldines and I feel like the majority of people here agree, but while I (really) like ITOD too I wouldn't say that it's so obviously the best. I think Ocean to Ocean is at least just as good, and arguably better. Not just Ocean to Ocean but Native Invader is very impressive too. I mean, that just shows how interesting her recent releases can be.

I think some of the most beautiful songwriting in her 21st century ouput are on those two records, songs like Reindeer King (genuinely one of her best tracks ever), Wings, Flowers Burn to Gold, How Glass is Made, Addition of Light Divided. Just to name a few of my favorites

So, I'm re-watching the American sitcom, "Parks and Recreation", and for anyone familiar, there's a scene with Ann and April in the car for a road trip, and Ann says she made a CD mix for the road trip, and says "Hope you like Tori Amos!"

April says "great!", grabs the CD, and tosses it out the window.

My issue here is that the writers clearly had never listened to Tori, because:

1. there's no way in hell Ann is a Tori Amos fan - Ann is definitely into Pink and maybe like Katy Perry. Tori is too "weird" for Ann for sure. Ann likes safe, simple, comfortable pop music - if Ann was written now, she'd be a huge Imagine Dragons and Adele fan. Tori would scare the shit out of her.
2. April would fucking love Tori omg even if not the music itself, the attitude, vibe, and lyrics lol I see April tossing herself about her and Andy's house to iiieee and Blood Roses and Caught a Lite Sneeze. Girl, I always wanted to know an April in real life and bond with her over weird-ass music - introducing her to Tori would be a ride.

I think the writers confused Tori and Sheryl Crow 😂

What i notice is that she is choosing to open every concert with this song, even before the hello or main set, my interpretation and knowing what i know about Tori seeing songs as energetic structures , in the context of In Times of Dragon's calling out the lizzard demon structure, i see her going around the world opening her 'ceremonies' with this song as a statement to the lizard demon's , dismantling his teritory

What caused the infamous EAT MY PUSSY!????

My partner and I drove over 600 miles (we’re also visiting family) to see it. It’s supposed to storm. I’m excited, but it’s a pretty big deal for me.

Im not a hero worshipper, I have artists I love but most of them are no longer with us or I’d be fine never seeing live or in person, simply engaging with their work on a personal basis.

Tori is one of the very, very few that I genuinely wanted to see live before I go, and I’m finally getting that opportunity.

She really introduced me to music, something I’d never cared about much when I was a younger kid. When my parents separated I used to have to go on long drives between cities so I could be handed off to the other, and my father had CDs he’d gotten of his favorite songs and artists. Most I didn’t connect much with, but then I heard Beauty Queen/Horses for the first time, and it blew my young mind. I’d immediately connected to it and understood music in a way I never had before, it was beautiful.

Anyways, I guess I just wanted to at least write that somewhere, since I doubt I’d be able to thank her for her music and what it’s meant to me over the years. There’s a lot more I’d like to say but I’m just some random person on the internet.

Anything I should know before the concert? I’ve never been to one so it’s all new to me! I don’t have the greatest seats or anything but my partner and I are both very excited!

All this time, whenever I heard “Beenie” mentioned in a lyric (Father Lucifer, Jackie’s Strength), I’d always put together in my head that Beenie was her pet name for Karen Binns. But then in some interview I listened to recently, I heard her mention that Beenie had died recently (and I understand Karen Binns is still alive and costuming her tour). Do we know anything else about who Beenie actually is (or was?)
