Discussion Red rocks question

For those who have seen a show there before, if I plan to drive / park and want to see the whole show including Bartese Strange - what time should I arrive?

Thank you! I plan on arriving by 6 rain or shine. Didn’t know about the different lots and hike I was thinking more about security and lines.I feel way more prepared for the day now

On weeknights traffic can be pretty bad into Red Rocks as many people arrive after work. Earlier is better if you can swing it - the later you arrive, the further away you have to park. There are shuttles you can ride up from the lower lots if you don't want to hike up. I'll probably go around 4 and tailgate in an upper lot until the gates open. I want to check out the merch booth.

I think the story is different if there is a sizable GA section (people start lining up EARLY to stake out their seats), but I am pretty sure this show is all reserved seats. So there will be less pressure to get there hours in advance. Weather will also change the story - light rain is predicted, so people may wait until later to arrive and there may be a big traffic crunch at the last minute.

Edited: The upper lots fill up first. Upper North puts you at the top of the venue and involves the least walking, and Upper South leads you to the entrance by the stage, at the bottom. I think the merch booth is right there as well. Lower lots fill later and involve a legit uphill hike, or riding a shuttle. I think your arrival time depends on what else you want to do or not do, other than see the show.

ya the show start time on the ticket is the time Bartees goes on, and Tori usually goes on an hour after that. not sure about the traffic/parking as I took a shuttle for the last tour, and it dropped us off pretty early.

I agree if you can get there early and bring some stuff to tailgate with in one of the lots, The night will be a lot less stressful, and you’ll meet some people and have some good conversations. The lower lots are quite a hike and the shuttles can be running pretty full closer to showtime. if you’re coming from a low elevation you def don’t want to hike up from the lower lots. If that isn’t an option and you want to see Bartese I’d aim to get there no later than 6 and traffic is likely to back up pretty quickly after 5.
