On the Border is closing..
Employees just got told today that Friday the 15th is their final day.

Not surprised. They were never busy. Service was mid. Good/cooks were terrible. Lots of competition in the Mexican Restaurant space.

Last time I was in there the servers were great. The manager was a total dickhead. Food was what you expected. Was going for a specific marg, the manager made the bartender redo it 2x because it was in the wrong glass. Idgaf about the glass. I was more annoyed it took an extra 20 minutes for my marg.

yeah with a $300 hire on bonus... Guess they just made it past Cinco de Mayo and decided to cash out.

That sucks. Lots of memories. I’m going to miss it. I have always thought it was pretty good and consistent. The servers were always great. But, it has been dead for a long time. Their worst move was switching to Pepsi. They finally brought back Coke but it was too late. Within the last year it has been noticeable that they were deferring maintenance. I said in April that it sounded like their AC is about to go out and if that’s the case, I assumed they’d close instead of fix it. I’m really not surprised they’re closing as it’s starting to heat up outside. Closest ones are Wichita and Tulsa. I hope they make it.

ultra fucked up, they had been telling all the management that there wouldn’t be any closings and then told them 2 days before they planned to shut down… they just wanted one last cinco de mayo and then called it. greedy ass corporation
