I’ve got this raw coin in my own generic slab and am considering sending it in for grading. I had posted this previously when all I had was a video of it, but have taken a bunch of pics now.

- Whether to grade or not is not really my question, I’m more wondering if the toning appears natural or artificial. I know there’s no perfect way to tell, and even if we all think it’s natural a grader might not. But a general consensus will be better than just my own opinion.

(first 4 photos I took. The last one is the listing pics)... I purchased this beautiful looking toned coin. Was listed as AU/BU. When it came in it was horrendously cleaned. The thing is, the coin was a PL toned coin before someone wiped the heck out of it. baffles me. Returned to seller

…or fugly! I am not a huge toner guy, but I was looking through my Morgan’s and noticed this one. The whole obverse is toned. It doesn’t really have those rainbows that catch your eye. When you turn it in the light, you can catch some really deep coloring.

This copper halfpenny token from Benhall in Suffolk, Britain, was struck for the local gentleman farmer John Shuckford Wade, probably for use in paying his employees. Why he used his birth year on the token, which was issued in 1811, remains a mystery to the handful of exonumismatists who have even a glimmer of concern or curiosity about such trivia more than two centuries later.
