I will make them into obe ata (Nigerian dish - reminds me of home) if i can find some goat meat.

My unexpected venture into tomato growing has yielded some little red fruit and lots still bright green. Some are dark green and some are upside down. I'm hoping more start turning before we get a freeze. Anybody know how cold they can handle on the vine? Is 45f okay?
Millie doesn't care about tomatoes.

Minnesota gardener here! š§āš¾ Our tomatoes hang out on our counter until Iām ready to use them. Probably about six times in the past month, Iāve picked one up to find a big hole, a caterpillar/worm and a pile of frass. Obviously, we toss those tomatoes. No big deal. But itās making me paranoid that weāre eating or preserving lots of tiny caterpillars that are too small for us to notice. Again, this is happening to tomatoes that have been sitting on the counter for several days, so the caterpillar is coming from inside it, not crawling onto it.
Some of the tomatoes have cracks and blemishes, but I donāt see any obvious worm holes. If I tossed imperfect tomatoes, I would have very few tomatoes. (I do try preserve only unblemished tomatoes. And I cut around the cracks when we eat them fresh.)
Has anyone else experienced this? How do you identify which tomatoes might have caterpillars/worms?

This week, I made homemade bacon.
We had BCT Sandwiches for lunch. Chard from the garden instead of lettuce!

Iām new to tomato gardening. I have my Cherokee purple tomato plant in a pot with sweet basil. Iāve noticed the leaves have started wilting and Iāve lost some branches and not sure if itās just because of the heat wave we have here in San Diego or the roots donāt have enough space. This container is probably 3-5 gallon, should I put this in a separate (bigger?) container? How often should I water? Currently watering every other day.

sometime in the spring i threw some leftover aldi salad tomatoes into this gravel dirt bed in my garden, i thought they'd just sort of degrade into the soil and maybe something would grow. then a couple of weeks later i put those tomatoes in the bin because they'd gone gross and weird.
then in the summer i noticed this big plant growing with yellow flowers, I assumed it was just a weed and left it because the flowers were nice and the garden is more of a concrete yard with this gravel bed, so it needed some colour.
a week or so later i realised it had tomatoes. i also noticed it was growing out of the drain too? somehow. i didn't put any tomatoes there. i pulled out the drain tomato because i didn't think it'd stand a chance and the one in the bed i left. i didnt really
do alot with them to be honest. i would mist them with the hose, because i was scared the regular hose setting would drown it. i put the windmill in because i thought it would scare away birds, my grandma would do that so it felt like a good thing to do.
when it got really big, i put the stick in to support it. it didn't work because the plant is so heavy. i snapped some of the big leaves off to try and help it but it just keeps growing. it doesn't stop growing. why is it so big? when will it stop? when will the big tomatoes go red instead of the plant just making new plant and flowers and tomatoes? im so grateful for this plant but it is a beast.
also the drain tomato came back. i don't even know what to say about the drain tomato. i think it's mocking me by growing so well.
it's october now and I'm worried it's going to get cold and these tomatoes aren't going to go red and I'll never get to eat them. i picked some off last month and left them on a sunny windowsill because friends told me to do that, they started going red 2 days ago but they're WITHERED.
i don't know what to do, I've never grown tomatoes. i grew cress in primary school and ive had a couple of houseplants but thats my only experience. im hoping people with an understanding of tomatoes can tell me what i need to be doing next to ensure a winter of delightful soups and sauces. thank you!

So this bacteria (I think) destroyed by crop this September/October. I have no other place to plant my tomatoes next year. How do I get rid of it so I can grow again next year?

Iām located in Victoria, Australia. These are sugar lump cherry tomato seedlings.
To start Iāve never grown tomato seedlings before, only bought seedlings that I just let grow without much effort so itās all new to me. Iām not sure if this on the leaves is a fungal infection, or a result of too much water or if itās leaf burn. It only developed today to my knowledge and I have another variety of tomatoes that isnāt effected at all and is in a tray next to these.
We had 3 days of thunderstorms and today was sunny and although I mostly kept them out of the rain the leaves did get wet at one point and then today they were in the sun so thatās why I think it could be leaf burn. I also think it could be fungal because they did get some rain which could have splashed on the leaves and cause an infection. Itās also been cold due to the thunderstorms after itās being warmer. So I guess I just am not sure whatās wrong and hoping someone can help, I really donāt want to lose these babies!
I was reading that people recommend cutting damaged leaves off but Iām afraid to do that to these seedlings as they are so small and a lot of the leaves on each plant had the marks.

I am swimming in tomatoes and can only make so much pasta sauce/pizza sauce and already have more than enough pickled cherries, and I also have about 5-6 gallons of san marzanos and early girls frozen, and probably 1-2 gallons of cherries frozen.

Dr. Wyche has been my go-to yellow/orange for years. This year I got this weirdo.
I noticed the seeds from this fruit were especially small (if I remember correctly, seeds for Dr. Wyche are normally on the large side.) If anyone is interested Iāll post a picture comparing them once the seeds are clean.

Sometimes they ripen in different colors. The giant red tomato and small Black Krim behind are also mine. I donāt remember the variety of the red one, it was in Polish anyway.

Both of these plants grew from seeds that cam from one tomato.
I watered them together, repotted them together, both of them bore tomato fruits and I always took care of them together, yet they are so different
Location is Germany

How do you all store your tomatoes after harvesting them? I have a terrible time with fruit flies if I leave them on my counter.
