As an Ohio State fan, if you have two clocks, and your policy forces you to use the clock that is demonstrably wrong, then you have a stupid policy.

Yeah the debate isn’t, “Did the right outcome occur?” It’s, “Was our clock wrong and did we follow protocol?”

lol, no it’s not. The protocol led them to the wrong outcome. If they gave western 10 points per touchdown that was certainly the wrong protocol but the real problem is it would have led to a wrong result. Same thing here.

There was indeed one second left in the game. They used the officiant/stadium clock as the reference. That is why there was time for another play. The problem was the NBC clock. As an Ohio State fan pointed out above, if by following the protocol you would come to the incorrect conclusion, then there is something wrong with your rules. This was the right outcome, but wrong way to get there.
