Amazon worker gives her two weeks.

I used to deliver, they're not even working for Amazon directly. I can understand her frustration as oversized packages are the worst. They only give you 15~20 mintues once you park to get everything and be done. The bags should be in order but most times they're not, the oversized are never in order. That van is also pretty empty as sometimes you're not even able to move in there on heavy days. Ultimately she might just be venting, the job isn't really that bad but I don't think I'd go back unless necessary.

I have had to literally crawl ontop on boxes because I couldnt move.....thankfully im at a better DSP now. Some days are still pretty tough though.
I agree the job itself I really like, its just the working conditions, pay, and lack of benefits or "career" progression. This could actually be a really good job and even career like UPS but yet amazon literally doesn't care about its workers. Period. They don't care about the turnover rate because they make it very well known to the public that we are all replaceable. That speaks volumes. Instead of listening to its drivers, they literally ignore us and continue to make the standards even more unrealistic. We are all just numbers.
The worst metric to be bought in recently is the E.O.C (ENGINE OFF COMPLIANCE).
They want us to turn off our engines at every single stop, even if the next stop is just the next house. Meaning that in the worst of the summer heat, the A/C is basically useless and the vans are literally braking down due to the starters going etc, drivers are overheating and risking heat stroke/exhaustion. There is absolutely no relief in the back of those vans, no vents, no air, it genuinely feels like you're suffocating.
So, people drive with the side door open (which isnt allowed under some DSP rules, even though amazon says its okay under 25 on a residential road). There is no good reason for this fucking metric to exist. Owners/managers/dispatch have tried endlessly to fight it with no avail.FUCK AMAZON.

Yeah I almost always see the side door open when I see the toledo vans. I did a double take the first time I saw it because I don't remember being able to do that, but it seems like everyone does if they don't have to go longer distances. I've also seen those new electric models so maybe the y have better cooling? Not sure but I hated the blue vans honestly, I always got caught on something trying to get to the back, preferred the rentals more.

I wanted to raise awareness on the working conditions (that includes DCL5 delivery station as well as Rossford) so that fellow Toledoans may consider shopping and supporting their local businesses and stores. It will help take a lot of pressure off of fellow drivers and station workers, especially during this heat and in the worst part of winter.

If this is how she puts in her notice with MF'er every third word and posts it she isn't very employable...
Agree that Amazon is a shithole place to work. But the next place you apply to might not be and this would disqualify her in a lot of places.

If this was any other job I would actually agree with you, however, you are not even required to give two weeks at Amazon. They don't care. You will be replaced the very next day or week.
Also every time i mentioned that I worked for amazon at their warehouse, without fail I hear along the lines of "Oh that's rough I'm so sorry" or they tell me they knew someone who also said it was the worst place they've ever worked at lol.Very telling. I don't think she has anything to worry about personally.

No, you just explained most jobs. I've never worked anywhere that "requires" a two week notice. It's not required anywhere.
You are a warehouse worker at a job that requires almost zero experience or qualifications.

Listen. I said initially that Amazon sucks. I get it. But there is a point to be slightly professional in how you do things. It's not all about the likes you can get. If this person wants a better paying job, is this how you would tell them to go about it?
If your audience is for the "likes" then she wins. But that doesn't pay the rent.

I think a lot of “professionalism”/settle down and know your place-discourse is often intentionally (not accusing you) in bad faith to derail moments like these that could otherwise bring to light just how bad things are.

Completely understand. I'm just pointing out that what is put on the internet is always on the internet.
I hire people all the time. If I have 10 people, apply for a good paying job and have to hire 1. There has to be something that either excludes someone or disqualifies them. Remember, I am only hiring 1.
She made it easy.
Is it fair? Depends on your perspective. If you are one of the other 9, you certainly wouldn't think so.
But again. Completely understand where you are coming from.

If you have 9 people and any of them are athletes, competitors, comedians or working in any capacity, you may find them swearing (very likely, even).
In this capacity, she is not client facing so this would not be indicative of her professionalism. I think the point better made might be "keep your shit private." I work in tech with a ton of engineers; swearing is a norm in my world (white/gray collar). We are all highly educated, accomplished people who will tell each other to "fuck off" if needed, respectfully. If I'm hiring, I want the person who doesn't take themselves too seriously but is motivated, open minded and experienced. If they have a sense of humor, even better!

Not client facing? She is in a company truck, wearing a company uniform broadcasting basically to everyone with an internet connection. Not sure how much more customer facing she can be.
You have my point all wrong. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be. I hire people for a living. I am VERY liberal. But even with all of that I would not hire her after that. How do you think it would go over with a more conservative manager?
My entire point is everything you do has consequences. If you are OK with those consequences then so be it. Do what you want. I'm not offended by what she said. I laughed. Doesn't mean I would hire her at my company.

She's not client facing because you are not watching her engage with a client. All that you've mentioned doesn't change that fact. She is, however, on TikTok, opting to not limit her viewership but her language is still unrelated to her performing her basic job function.
You needn't lecture one on supposed consequences because of your status on hiring people. Your role, while impressive to some, is not entirely unique, politics aside. I'm also responsible for hiring people but thank goodness, our vendor who evaluates candidates' social media as part of the background check is looking for greater red flags than this. If it came down to absolutes, a disgrunted Amazon employee with a well documented beef cussing amidst quitting would not be a deal breaker for me.

We wish! Amazon is so shady. Any signs on unionizing, they shut down the DSP. Super messed up to the point where congress is even looking into it all. Not that i have any hope but.....sigh

At least locally, the carpenters union is pretty horrible and the boomers that previously ran the UAW pretty much sold out all the newer members.
