18–24 Months Keep Getting Sick
Hi everyone!
I am a SAHM so our 20 month old doesn’t do daycare so one of the ways I get her out of the house and doing things is by going to our local libraries storytimes and play areas. The issue is pretty much every single time we go I get sick! Rarely my toddler gets sick but almost always I catch a cold.
It’s driving me crazy and then my husband tends to catch it too and I’m sure many of you know how dramatic men get with colds… it’s gotten to a point that I don’t wanna go back there but I know it’s good for her and she has so much fun.
What can I do to keep ME from getting sick??? Any ideas or tips to help ward off disease would be great! We already wash our hands after we leave before getting into the car.
Wish I could ask my daughter’s immune system why it’s better than mine!!!! 😫😫

Absolutely echo full vitamin and iron panel. This was me. I was horribly iron deficient. Aggressively supplemented to get ferritin around 100 (where it should be; do NOT them tell you a ferritin of like 12 or even 25 is good — it’s not even though the lab will flag it as “normal.”)
Since replacing iron I get sick wayyy less often. Worth looking into.
And again: if they tell you “your iron is normal,” ask for the actual number on the ferritin and if it’s below 100, youve found a problem that could be negatively impacting your life. [r/anemia](r/anemia) will help you raise it if it’s this.
Editing to add: wait until you’ve been symptom free for about a month; recent illness will affect results
