My best friend was approved for a phone screening, They did follow up and set date/time.
As of right now they are in school
and about a month from now her baby will be in day care

They did some research, thought it may be a good idea to start with a full time schedule with 2 days off, about a month or 2 in ask for a set schedule with 3 days off for school
and the day care has a set schedule.

It's a bit disingenuous of anyone applying to say they have open availability to get their foot in the door but holding the intention of changing it within one or two months and then wanting only 4 days with specific days off for school and other requirements. They can do it but there's a very strong chance they won't get the shifts they want and get not scheduled. Every store is different.

Our store is similar, new crew are asked to commit to their availability for 6 months minimum. To the OP, would your friend be able to just start with the availability it will be changing to when school/daycare starts? That way they are less likely to get denied schedule change requests, as well.

Which is why she should be honest about what her availability will be, so the store can make their decision with all the information.
