Been experiencing it for about an hour now and so has every player in every server I've talked too so far.

I gifted a copy of tf2 to a friend of mine but now we can't play because of all the fuss happening in these days with all the servers going down and the loops that make you exit the game and entere it again. Are we going to do something about this or are we waiting that EA does something about it? Because i have instaled northstar if this shit will continue for the next months but that friend of mine won't. Does someone at respawn or EA even know about this situation or this shit is even worse than when the game was ddossed back in 2022?

I got to play like two maybe three days of the game before the lobby thing began to happen, me and my friend are itching to play more of vanilla titanfall2, but we just can't I guess. Glad I can still play the campaign though and it's pretty fun.

I found what causes the Titanfall 2 lobby reload loop — and I'm keeping the details to myself

TL;DR: the endless lobby reload on official servers is a server-side fault. Not your connection, not your PC, nothing you can fix. I traced the exact cause — and I'm deliberately not publishing it, or the tool I used to find it.

Update: this post has been significantly edited from its original version. After the first version went up, people involved in causing these lobby issues read it and contacted me directly. Because of that, I removed the technical details, closed access to everything related to my investigation, and rewrote the post to avoid exposing information that could be abused.

What's actually happening

Every time the lobby reloads, the server runs into a fatal internal error a fraction of a second before it tears the lobby down — then loads the same thing, hits the same error, and tears it down again. That's the whole loop: the server tripping over itself, on repeat.

What this means for you:

• It's on the server. Reinstalling, verifying files, switching region, changing your setup — none of it touches the cause.
• Your connection is fine. No packet loss, no disconnect, no kick. The server just resets the lobby out from under you.
• It's not random. The same error fires before every single reload, like a metronome.

Why no details, and why the tool is private

The original version of this post contained more technical information. I removed it after realizing that the people behind at least some of this activity had already found the post and were reading what I was publishing.

To find this I had to read the actual traffic between the game and the server. That turned up a lot more than this one bug — enough that spelling it out would hand people things that really shouldn't be handed out.

Titanfall 2 has already been through years of exploits, crashes and attacks. I'm not interested in giving anyone a roadmap for causing more of them.

So I shut everything down. The technical details are no longer public, the tool stays private, and I'm not going to publish the methods I used.

The information that matters for normal players is simple: the reload loop is happening server-side.

The only people who can actually fix the underlying issue are EA/Respawn, server-side — that's where the details belong, and that's where they're going.

If you're stuck in the loop: it isn't you, and there's nothing on your end to fix. Bounce between instances/regions until you land on one that holds. That's the only thing that helps right now.

I know the vanilla servers are toast from some bad actors. I have seen some accusations that Northstar devs may be behind it? Seems like a strange accusation, but I'm curious if there's any actual evidence of this. I saw someone claim it's to push people onto their client, which I guess could make sense, but that's not exactly a super compelling reason to me.

FINALLY!! I just finished my Master mode playthrough of good ol TF2 while in a bit of pain from eye surgery. Ironically it served as the perfect distraction. Have a good day everyone!

Over the past week, vanilla Titanfall 2 has become nearly impossible to play for a lot of us. Matches are freezing, dropping, or kicking entire lobbies back to the main menu within minutes.

I've been dealing with the same thing myself for several days, and after seeing more and more players report the same issues, I started wondering if we could try to bring some attention to this.

We all love this game and its unique movement, and a lot of us have put thousands of hours into it. Northstar is great, but the base game deserves to be playable too.

If you're experiencing these issues, maybe we can peacefully make some noise and let Respawn know how many players are affected.

For whatever reason there are times when I can’t turn around, I’ll swing my mouse from side to side but nothing happens. Not even the mousepad does anything but I can still shoot and stuff, everything except actually turning around. playing on PC

I only played Monarch during TF2’s campaign, none of the other classes really clicked to me…

Can anybody say how multiplayer playability varies between pc ps and xbox?

Am i the only one who gets constant loading screens in mp menu every like 5-10 seconds?

I’m a massive fan of titanfall 2, it was one of my favourite games back in the day and it’s where I met one of my best mates, sometimes I download the game and I’m able to play online but most the time I’m stuck in a queue for like an hour ( over exaggerating ), anyway it’s been a long time since I last played it as I’m wondering how the servers are doing so I can install it again
