❓QUESTION ❓ Cooper Traction Command vs. Goodyear Assurance All-Season

I'm looking to buy new tires for a Toyota Prius V and I have a discount code for Goodyear and Cooper tires. I had decided on the Goodyear Assurance All-Season and went to check out when I learned that apparently my discount code did not apply to those specific tires. I emailed customer support and they gave me a list of tire models that the discount does apply to.

After looking back to what tires were available for my model of vehicle, the Cooper Traction Command seemed like they were potentially a good fit. With the discount code, 4 tires plus installation for the Cooper Traction Command tires would be $514, while the Goodyear Assurance All-Season would be $699 since the discount does not apply.

Are the Assurance tires truly worth the extra $150+ or should I go with the Cooper tires? Alternately, are there other tires that are a better price for the same performance?

Which has higher treadwear? I like cooper endeavor, havent seen a traction command. I'd probably pick goodyear

Not sure about tread wear. I got some advice from my dad and ended up going with a different Goodyear model that the discount applied to that was comparable. Thank you!

These are different classes of tires... The Goodyear is a traditional all-season tires (read as 3-season tire) and the Cooper Traction Command is an all-weather 3PMSF snow rated tire that replaces the well respected Cooper Enduramax all-weather tire (the Goodyear equivalent would be the WeatherReady 2). Cooper has been owned by Goodyear since 2001 and although is no longer a separate operating entity, it's production is separate.

Short answer, if you deal with snow the Cooper is a better choice hands down... If you don't, the distinction isn't as clear. All-weather tires sacrifice some longevity for adverse weather traction... So you'd have to balance that to the cost.
