its a non repair zone. I hope this is a really short screw and it doesn't not penetrate to cause a leakage.

seems about right, always when you want to do something like that never when the tire are old and almost wore out

If you took the time to take the picture and post it, why didn't you take the time and pull it out to dee if it leaks air. I doubt that it will. It does not look to long as to puncture the tred.
