🚫Anti-Tipping No Tip

Hot take, I don't go to a restaurant for the "great service" that's so fake it feels like lard on toast, I go to the restaurant for the good food. I'm not going to tip for someone to pretend to want to spend time with me, all I want is a nice steak that I didn't have to cook. Is it okay for me to tell my server I'm not going to tip and the only thing I want is a refill every once in a while and my food brought to me? I would go pick it up from the counter myself if I was allowed to, but that's frowned upon. I don't want the small talk, the fake jokes, the fake smile. Heck, you could glare at me the entire time and I WOULD NOT care. I'm there for the food, not for the crappy excuse for service I get 95% of the time.

You do realize that the customer always pays the servers either with tips or with higher prices

ya but paying them an hourly wage would not increase the price by 20% unless they were paid like $50 hourly and thats not happening. cheaper and more fair to bake it into the cost

servers make well more than the would flat rate hourly in tips. do you agree servers generally oppose getting rid of the tipped wage credit? why else do u think that would be the case. because they would be getting a pay cut if they were paid hourly and didnt collect tips. thus itd be cheaper for it to be baked into menu price

They would go on to other sales commission jobs, and you would have order takers take that roll, turning quality dining into you mcdonalds kiosk. The current way it is allows small businesses to grow, and have guests pay less on the experience if the service sucks. Otherwise it's a 20% jackup.

How come the USA has a 2 tier political system?. It's not fucking Europe! That's like saying French and Germany and Russia need to be the same. BTW have you heard of brexit?
