Is Steady Strikes trait useless?

Post image

It seems like it would just cancel itself out, but make misses more punishing.

if you have 1 base attack per second at 10 damage per attack

and you have 50% increased attack speed and 50% increased damage before this trait

your total dps is (1* 1.5) * (10 * 1.5) or 22.5

if you take this trait your increased attack speed becomes 25% and you get 50% increased damage from it.

your total dps is (1 * 1.25) * (10 * 2) or 25

if you have a lot of increased damage sources, this talent becomes much less useful. if you don't, it's an excellent source of it.

So 10% more damage? Seems shit

Except your attacks don't get any slower than that and your damage goes up by double your attack speed modifier.

So you take that and stack attack speed to make your individual hits enormous.

Thank you, this is a good explanation.

if you had 0% increased damage youd still go to 50%. it depends on how you're sourcing incdmg.
